Robert "Bob" Newbie, Jr., was a pre-made Sim in The Sims in the tutorial family, the Newbies. He is the son of Robert Newbie and Mags Newbie. He is the husband of Betty Newbie, the father of Brandi Broke and grandfather of Dustin Broke, Beau Broke and the unborn baby of Brandi Broke.

Bob had a hard time adjusting to life in Riverview until he met his new best friend, Betty. When he is not spending time with her, however, he mostly spends time lounging around indoors, leaving his parents concerned.

Bob Newbie appears in The Sims (console) wearing the same clothes as in The Sims, although his beard is black. He and his wife Betty Newbie live in 7 Sim Avenue. They both share a 20+ relationship, so it is unknown if they are really married. They both don't have a job, but maybe it's best to get them in the Military Career Track cause they are both very active. He likes to read books and water the plants, but he doesn't like noise since he always turns down the T.V. and Stereo.

Bob Newbie was one of the pre-made Sims in The Sims, he and his wife Betty had just moved into the neighborhood at the start of the game. They are inhabitants of 'Neighborhood 1' and make up the welcome wagon. Bob is a Tutorial character who has many similarities to Homer Simpson. Bob is also a lazy slob who lets his wife Betty get him out of trouble or take care of the house. He is characterized by dingy, greasy clothing and a bald head. Although he is married to her, his relationship with Betty is not very good. He and his wife Betty are probably some of the most popular Sims in The Sim universe.

By the time the storyline has caught to The Sims 2, he and his wife Betty are already deceased, though he left a daughter, Brandi Broke to raise her family. She is the mother to two sons, Dustin Broke and Beau Broke, and is pregnant with her third son at the start of The Sims 2. She is the widow of Skip Broke. He, his wife, his parents, and his in-laws can be resurrected with SimPE

Bob Newbie is also an available character on SimCity 4. (Note: The selectable people like him are sort of like the NPCs of today's The Sims 2. They can be selected, and you can change their names, signs, and houses. However, the houses are extremely limited, and you can't play as them.)
