Riverside and Waterside[]

I'm proposing a very specific kind of merge, involving creating a new article (something like Unreleased Neighborhoods or something of that type) and merging two current articles - Riverside and Waterside - into that article. Both neighborhoods were shown only during the development of The Sims 2 and neither was ever released. I think we should cover them in some way, but I don't think they each deserve their own article, but rather should be included in a general article that discusses neighborhoods used either only in Promotional Material, or Neighborhoods that were at one time developed or under development but never released. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 00:38, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

System Requirements and Minimum Requirements[]

As brought up on the IRC, these two pages are virtually identical and cover the same material. Rather than simply deleting one in favor of the other, I'd like to make sure that there is no information exclusive to one that isn't on the other. The other main issue is one of naming - what should the merged page be called? We can set up redirects as necessary to funnel search results to the correct page, but we need to decide what that page is first. -- LiR speak ~ read 06:41, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

I think "Minimum system requirements" is a good alternative as it pretty much says the same thing but in a more simplistic way. Minimum requirements is tidier and says the same thing so I'd keep the content from that and add the Notes section from System requirements. I support that. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 21:58, July 3, 2014 (UTC)
It's been going on for long but I support this. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:25, September 9, 2014 (UTC)
It's been so long LOL but I am actually going to say "no." What the article really does need, though, is a good cleanup. Minimum requirements is the exact same article but smaller. So, I say NO. thatKitten come and chat! PrayForParis 12:18, December 12, 2015 (UTC)
This topic has been unresolved for 10 years now?? Anyway, I generally agree. Minimum Requirements should be turned into a #REDIRECT to "Minimum Requirements" sub-heading in System Requirements and the substantive contents of Minimum Requirements placed there with overall clean up. I don't think that page should be deleted without a redirect though. I might myself do this eventually, if nobody wants to resolve it? -NotAnyoneSpecial (talk) 03:54, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Scientist Neighborhood and Police and Doctor Neighborhood[]

I feel like these two sub-neighborhood pages would be better off combined, maybe as a list, such as "List of stealth neighborhoods in The Sims 4" or something to that effect. I think doing so would also make the fact that we don't have a name for these hoods less of an issue. -- LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 13:32, August 15, 2015 (UTC)

I support this idea. If we go by TS2 way, maybe we should go with "Secret sub-neighborhood (The Sims 4)," or probably "Secret neighborhood (The Sims 4)" because I'm not actually sure if a "sub-neighborhood" is a real definition in TS4 (it is in TS2)? I'm not keen on using "secret" for TS2 hood but "stealth" for TS4. Nikel Talk Vote! 05:19, August 16, 2015 (UTC)
I support this idea. Sims Plumbob Player (talk) (mistakes) 08:37, September 6, 2015 (UTC)
I disagree. I don't think these neighborhoods are at all comparable to TS2 neighborhoods. Neighborhoods in TS2 only exist to house lots, and the player cannot do anything with the space outside of the lot (unless they place another lot down). In TS4, lots are only a small part of the neighborhood, and there is much space to explore and amenities to interact with outside of the lot. As it stands, every neighborhood in TS4 has articles separate from their respective worlds (Sable Square and Brindleton Bay, for instance), so I believe these articles should also remain separated. --Summm1 (talk) 17:18, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Another point I thought of: the park neighborhoods in Oasis Springs, Willow Creek, and San Myshuno all only house one lot (similar to the Scientist Neighborhood), but no one is debating whether or not they should be merged into one page. If these park neighborhoods all deserve their own pages, I believe the career neighborhoods do as well. --Summm1 (talk) 14:40, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

The Sims 2 GBA aspirations[]

I made this point a while ago on one of the talk pages, but it didn't get much of a response. I think that there is no point in keeping these three aspiration as separate stubs: they don't have a prominent enough role in the game to ever fill three articles with information. I would suggest creating an 'Aspiration (Sims 2 GBA)' page instead, and I have already written a draft which I can put into a page any time if the community thinks this would be a good idea. It's still pretty short, but it seems better than the ones we have now.

Please let me know what you think. Vpetmad (talk) 13:27, December 18, 2015 (UTC)
