Darleen Dreamer (née Matlapin) is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable Sims featured in The Sims 2 as ancestors or deceased family members of playable, pre-created Sims. Though deceased when the game begins, you can see her in the relationship trees of playable Sims Darren Dreamer and Dirk Dreamer, who are her husband and son, respectively.
She resided, during her lifetime, in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods that ships with the game. She is the mother of teen Dirk Dreamer and her husband was Darren Dreamer, though she is deceased when the game begins and her husband and son live alone in the Dreamer household. She was the daughter of Omar Matlapin and Mariana Matlapin, both of Pleasantview.
Her grave is in the Dreamer's yard however it is possible to resurrect her. With the power or the Resurrect-O-Nomitron phone from The Sims 2: University you can get Darren or Dirk to bring her back to life. She also has an unused hair style. There is, though, another hair style that looks similar to it, and if Darleen is resurrected, she will automatically have this one. She will haunt the lot. Her ghost is red because she was burned to death.

Another way you could tell the real from the fake is that the adult one has a relation to Dirk Dreamer and the Elder Darleen does not.
