Darren Dreamer is one of the pre-created, playable Sims that ships with The Sims 2 game. He and his son, teen Dirk Dreamer, reside in the Dreamer household in the neighborhood of Pleasantview. Darren is a widower - his wife, Darleen Dreamer is deceased before the game begins.
He's secretly and unrequitedly in love with his neighbor best friend, Cassandra Goth, but she is engaged to the town womanizer, Don Lothario, who he considers an enemy. In the game Darren loves to paint and wants to be a full time artist.
In The Sims 3, there is a painting called "Misty Lighthouse" and in the description is a quote from "D. Dreamer." Since Darren would not have been born at this time, it is possible that the name refers to Davis Dreamer or Dalmar Dreamer.

- There is a high chance that Darren, Brandi Broke, and Nina Caliente will appear in the Welcome Wagon early in the game, since they are unemployed.
- Darren has a huge fear of fires, probably because his wife died in a fire.
