 A young Sydney Alice walked into her new home to see her new parents for the first time. She rang the door bell and straightened out her beenie. Her curly brown hair spilled over her shoulders; Her glasses shone in the light. Her jacket kept her warm in the cool fall winds. the door swung open, a young teenage boy opened the door. Sydney felt like it was love at first sight. She was breathless. "So, who are you?" the boy asked her. "I -um- I'm...." Sydney was tongue-tied. She looked back at the car she came from, Ms. Switch, the social worker, smiled at her. Sydney looked back at the boy. She said- "I'm Sydney.... uh, Sydney Alice..." She looked at the ground and shuffled her feet  "Oh, so you're the adopted child who was coming....Come in...I guess." The boy opened the door wide. Sydney walked inside to see a large room with stairs at the back and two archways. She walked in a few feet then stopped. She looked down and held her hands together. "Um...I don't think I caught your name..." Sydney said softly. "Huh? Oh, me. I'm Kyle Auburn. I'm the family's pool boy," he said "Pool boy!? Uh, I mean...How old are you?"  Sydney said, surprised. "Oh, I'm 16. I know I'm young to be a pool boy," Kyle said to Sydney. "Oh, I'm 13-and-a-half!" Sydney said, turning to face him. "Cool. Your room is at the top floor, the third door on the right." He said, pointing to the stairs.  "Oh, okay." Sydney walked up the five floors of stairs and she finally reached her room. She took a deep breath and opened the door. She gasped. It was beautiful. She stepped inside and moved her hand over her silk clothes on her dresser. She sat on the bed and thought.
