Daughter of Two LegendsEdit
’Calypso’ was the number one hit song of the world famous band, Fil and the Rox – and also the name of their last album. The frontman, Phil Thompson, announced the break-up of the band when he found out his wife was pregnant. They gave the name Calypso to their firstborn – and so Fil and the Rox gave the exact same name to their last.
But what’s with the unusual name of choice?
Once upon a time there was a dying witch, who shared her wisdom with an ordinary suburban girl. The witch’s name was Calypso, the girl’s name was Kitty.
Kitty Carter, now vice-president of the Witches’ Council and wife of Phil Thompson, the ex rock star.
Brothers and SistersEdit
Somewhy everybody forgets that Calypso has a twin sister, Vanilla, who she loves very much but the feeling is definitely not mutual. Vanilla thinks no one likes her. Well, her father didn’t write a song about her so she might be right.
Then there is Matt. He is in a boy band, about to get famous but not because his father was a legend and he is trying to prove that he is not living in his shadow and can achieve great things too.
Ky and Xera. Twins. Kind of weird kids actually. They don’t talk much. They just stare at you and then you’ll have nightmares for days. It’s like they can see right into your soul. Creepy.
And last but not least, Petra Delma. Who might be the wisest 8-year-old of all time. She must be some sort of a reincarnation of Calypso, the witch. If that’s a real thing because if not than she isn’t.
Code Name: MartinEdit
Calypso was her father’s little princess. She always dressed up as one and surrounded herself with fairytale books, waiting for her Prince Charming.
And then he showed up. A mysterious guy who just moved to Sunstonetown from far far away. He seemed lonely, he hasn’t got any friends. Calypso knew she has to make the first move. And she had a plan. More precisely she found someone with a plan.
’All right, Cal. I help you out. In one condition.’
’And what is that supposed to be, Murdock?’
’Wendy Winthorp. She is driving me crazy.’
’You got to be kidding me! You like Bendy Wendy?!’
’What? Don’t be ridiculous. No, she is literally driving me crazy. She follows me everywhere. I even feel her eyes on me while I’m asleep. And she calls me hun-hun. That’s not even - Don’t laugh!’
’All right, all right. Consider it done. So what’s the plan?’
’So, you see, my cousin fancies Gloria Gallahan.’
’Yeah. But she is... hard to get. So maybe if she sees him with the smartest, prettiest, funniest et cetera girl, who is surprise-surprise none other than you...’
’Aww. That’s sweet. I already knew, but thanks.’
’Shut! So then Gloria will spring into action and tear you two apart.’
’Right. But why are they needed?’
’Here me out. First of all you tell this Martin kid that you love me.’
’I do love you hun-hun.’
’Sorry, go on.’
’And you want his help to get closer to me. Include the fact that my cousin fancies you. So if my calculations are right he will tell you to start dating with Eugene. And then I’ll be jealous et cetera, et cetera. Clear?’
’Crystal. But who’s Eugene?’
’Oh, right.’ ’And if everything goes as planned, I’m going to break up with you, let’s say, right before prom.’
Calypso was nervous, her heart was beating in her throat but she tried to act natural when she finally had the chance to talk to Martin. He wasn’t really interested in solving this girl’s problem but eventually he agreed to help her out.
’My girlfriend?! You’re mental! Wendy will find out you said that she is my girlfriend!’
’No, Murdock, she won’t. Unless you start shouting it even louder.’
Murdock’s plan was working. Martin fell in love with Calypso, and the little princess got the man she was dreaming of her whole life.
And somewhy Wendy Winthorp stopped following Murdock.
(Here you can read about Martin’s point of view which is, let’s face it, a bit different from Calypso’s.)
