Welcome to chapter 5 of A Pleasant Story! I'm really surprised on how popular this has gotten. It has really surprised me. Just to let you guys know, to refresh my creative skill, I'm going to take a break for a week so I can come up with some more ideas. And if your reading this on 3/8/2012, there might not be a chapter yet. The chapter will be up on the 9th. Enjoy chapter 5: Dirk and Lilith!

Dirk and Lilith[]
Dirk Dreamer knew from that moment he saw Lilith after her makeover, he knew his small crush had developed into a full longing to have her. She looked so different, it put Dirk off in class. It was just like being in the forth grade again- re-living a childhood crush! Dirk and Lilith have been really good friends from the age of five, yet Dirk didn't have the guts to ask her out. Dirk was the shy type- he often blended into the crowd or mingled with those he liked at first- like Richie. Those two were similar- quiet, studious and polite. Lilith, on the other hand, was reckless and noisy. Dirk knew it was like a mask for Lilith to show she was different. She wanted people to tell the difference between her and Angela. Dirk took a deep breath and thought I'll ask her.
School had ended. Dirk waited with Lilith while she handed in all of her late homework. Mr Pick was impressed. All of Lilith's very late homework was completed to an excellent standard. The two left. Dirk knew this was his only chance. "Hey, Lilith. Are you doing anything tonight?"
"Nope. Nothing. Why? What are you planning Dirk?" She stopped and folded her arms.
"Nothing!" Dirk stuttered hastily, feeling himself sweating. "It's just..." He stepped forward. "Lilith, you and I have been friends since we were kids and I wondered if..." Deep breath Dirk..."If you wanted to go out with me?" He let that hang in the corridor, his question being echoed. "If you don't want to, that's fine. It's just-" Lilith had stepped forward and put a finger on his lips to silence him. "Don't ruin it" she whispered. Lilith moved closer to Dirk. Dirk wrapped his arms around the girl. As if time slowed down, their faces moved closer together, and they kissed. If felt as if they had been there for hours, then it was over. "I hope you realize we may have missed the bus" said Lilith as-a-matter-of-factly. "Shoot! Let's move!" Lilith slid her hand into Dirk's and they ran.
Thankfully, they didn't miss the bus. They scrambled on and plonked themselves onto a seat behind Richie and Angela. Lilith snuggled into Dirk. She heard many things on that bus she would't have normally. Someone getting upset, someone talking about how Lilith was a pain and about someone's sleepover. She saw Angela, Dustin and Richie getting off the bus at the Broke household. The young lovers got of at Dirk's place. Dirk took Lilith up to his room and they spent the evening chatting, kissing and watching their romance bloom. Dirk and Lilith were in the middle of making out when the power went out.
