Kent Capp
Biography
Kent is happy with his newfound success in science, but he can't help the sinking feeling that his relatives' recent kindness is more because of the money than his hard work.
Kent Capp is a well-known scientist in my version of Veronaville. He lives in a large house with his sister Regan and her family. He is the youngest child and only son of Consort and Contessa Capp. While he originally moved in with Regan to get back on his feet after being fired, he now lives with her because he genuinely likes the people in the house.
As a young man, Kent was expected to get married to an eligible young heiress via arrangement, but he confided in his parents that he was not interested in women and in fact involved with another young man his age. They surprised him by allowing him to continue the relationship and not pressing the issue again.
When Kent first moved in with Regan, she was married to Cornwall Dane, who immediately disliked Kent. The feeling was mutual, so Kent eventually became a confidante of Regan's as she tried to maintain an image of normalcy to her family. Kent advised Regan to do what she felt was right, not what the family wanted, and eventually, Regan filed for divorce from Cornwall.
Kent has since gotten a new job in the Science career track as a Top Secret Researcher. He doesn't particularly enjoy not being able to share his discoveries with his family, particularly his new brother-in-law Lucian, who shares his love of learning. However, he's glad to finally have a stable job, and to be helping out a branch of his family that he's come to like a bit more than he thought possible.
Kent has suffered conflict with his family over his friendship with Bianca Minola (nee Monty). He himself has been slightly worried about the state of their relationship ever since Bianca revealed that she was attracted to him several years ago, before she married.
Trivia[]
At one point, I tried to give Kent hair, but it just looked so wrong I had to take it away.
In the canon Veronaville, Kent is the third child, but the relative ages of the Capp relatives and his motive for moving in with his sister and her husband made him seem younger, so I made him the youngest child.
