Biography
'These modern vampires know nothing about being a vampire, they just ’vamp’ around. I miss the old times, when aristocracy beat the tasteless vulgar, when people feared, but admired us, when we were the lords of the Carpathian Mountains. Those were the days.' – As told by Maia, the second youngest vampire in Moonlight Falls.
She never had to worry about being alone and not just because her family practically "conquered" Moonlight Falls. Although she is an only child, she always had someone to play with. Is it because of her charming personality? Her charisma? Her friendly smile? Nah. Probably because she used her compelling skill thingie on her classmates – even though she had no idea what she was doing. Oh yeah, ’cause she is a vampire. I should have started with that.
Of course she knew what she was, her parents told her she is not an ordinary girl. But she had no idea what she is capable of. And I have to tell you she is not only powerful but very dangerous.
Kendall MacDuff by the way is presumably the only person who actually wanted to be her friend. Now he is Maia’s boyfriend – and her personal mobile blood bag.

She wasn’t always a vampire, in fact she was born a werewolf.
Maia, and her mother had that basic face, which is given to townies (Maia’s grandmother, Magdalena was a townie), so I had to change their appearance, because it really bothered me that they all look alike. Fun fact: Maia's face is actually a mix of her mother's and father's now.
