Maria Goth (née Fair) is the wife of Edgar Goth, mother of Dexter Goth and Xavier Goth

History[]
Early Life[]
Maria moved to Sunset Valley recently. She moved around a lot in her childhood. Her mother was a necter addict, and her father was work shy. Maria does not really like to talk about her past.
Adult[]
Maria had gone for a walk in Sunset Valley, and stopped by the bookstore. Some man had taken an interest in her, but she was not interested in him. He tried to hastle her into going out with him. A handsome young man sent the guy on his way. He introduced himself as Edgar Goth.
To repay his kindness, and to spend more time with him, Maria offered to buy him lunch at the bistro. They spent the day together, going to the park. Going to the beach. Edgar in the spur of the moment said that it would make him a happy man, if he could spend the rest of his life with her. They decided to go for it, and get married right there on the beach. Both of them spent all night on the beach together, before going back to the Goth estate. Maria could not believe it. He was absolutely stinking rich! All she had to do was put up with a couple of ghosts floating around the house.
Maria was sad when Cassandra passed away, but not as sad as everyone else, because she didn't know her all that well. All that mattered to her was her marriage, and proving that she was not some gold digger after Edgar's money.
Parenthood[]
She became pregnant. Since was not all that close to the other members of the family, she agreed that Edgar should decide who to tell. Edgar was such a good husband to her. He took care of her, making sure she had everything she needed, even going out late at night to buy any food she craved.
Maria went into labour at home. She didn't trust anyone else to take her to hospital. Edgar was not there to take her, so she would not go. She gave birth to a baby boy, Dexter. Seeing the smile on Edgar's face, when he held his son for the first time, made her the happiest she had been in a long time.
When Jenna died, Maria could not care less. Neither of the women saw eye to eye. Just after Maria found out the news, she seduced Edgar, with the hopes of getting pregnant. She felt that if she gave him two sons, his line on the family tree would go on strong, maybe even eclipse out Georgina and Aria's branches completely.
Maria had a comfortable pregnancy, once again under Edgar's care. She had a home birth, because she did not want to leave the house. Holding Xavier in her ams, made her realise she was being silly. The sight of all those simoleons had clouded her better judgement. She wanted to focus on being a mother and a wife.
To build some bridges, she decided to take care of Alexander, when his health started to decline. They got on well. Maria even started to consider him a friend. He asked her to fetch something from the store. In her haste, she miss-read the moon dial, thinking it was a full moon. She was also unaware that zombies did not come out during the day. To protect herself, she collected one of the harmful elixirs from the cabinet, not realising it was age of instant.
As she was leaving the store, a shady man approached her and tried to start a fight with her. Out of fright, she threw the elixir at him, and run home. Alexander was already dead when she returned. She found Aria furious, yelling at her that Aria herself was now matriarch of the family and Maria never will be. Maria wanted to explain what had happened, and how the elixir came to be missing from the cabinet, but she knew Aria would not believe her. No one in this house would, except for Edgar.
She was heartbroken when Aria took her children from her. They were everything to her. When Edgar returned home, she told him her side of the story in private. She hoped that he would take her side, but did not. He told her that it would be best for Aria to take care of them for a little while, while they sort everything out. She knew he did not believe her.
Maria kept away from Alexander's funeral, because she knew she would not be welcome. Instead, she looked to the jelly bean tree for comfort, eating a few jelly beans to take the pain away.
As her children grew, she worked hard to give up her addiction. She knew that Aria would never forgive her, and she wasn't going to try. To allow her some time away from the mansion, she got a job at the spa. Her career really was the making of her. It allowed her to be a mum, and bring in a little money to the mansion.
