History[]

Origins[]

The first mention of the Simerburg surname is from the 19th century. Janina Wasser was a teenage girl, maid at a small but classy hotel in Midnight Hollow. She once had an affair with the owner's son, a rich businessman who was just staying a few weeks in town. After he learnt about that affair, his father banned his son from the town and fired Janina. Orphan and without any work, the young girl soon lost her apartment and had to survive by stealing in other people trashes. One night, a very wealthy and retired man, Simmon Burg, nicknamed "Herr Burg" due to his generosity, saw that young girl stealing in garbages. He found her really pretty, and decided to shelter her. She then told him she was pregnant, and the old man, who needed a heir for his important wealth, accepted to raise the child if it was a boy. Surprisingly, Janina gave birth to fraternal twins. Herr Burg only kept the boy, and sold the girl to an old peasant couple since they couldn't have children by their own. The name Simerburg comes from the day the boy was born. When registering his name at the town hall, the clerk made a mistake, and put together "Simmon Herr Burg", which became "Simerburg".

Sunset Valley[]

After Herr Burg died, Johannes, who was a teenage boy, inherited all his adoptive father money and his huge industrie, essential in Midnight Hollow. He then became the new boss and continued ruling the enterprise as Herr Burg used to do. He quickly earned more and more money, and eventually got married. His son, Klaus, was the first Simerburg family member who moved to Sunset Valley after its foundation. He there met his wife and established a Simerburg descent in the town.

Biography[]

The Sims 3[]

In The Sims 3, Klaus Simerburg and his wife are dead. Their son, Daniel, lives in their manor with his wife Leona and their young son Karl. Daniel already reached the top of the Business carrer and the family is quite wealthy. He does not have much friends in the neighborhood however. Leona is taking care of all their social life for him. The question is about how will their son grow up: sociable like his mother or venal like his father. Furthermore, this is the origin of the feud between the Goths and the Simerburgs with the rivalry between Mortimer Goth and Karl for Bella's love.

The Sims[]

In The Sims, the Simerburg family is composed by Karl Simerburg, Klaus' grandson, his wife Geneviève and their twins, the fraternal twins Lawrence and Anna. The family lives in the Simerburg manor that was built after the Simerburgs established in town. Karl is at the level 2 of the Medicine carrer. He and his wife are enemies with Mortimer Goth, who also lives in Neighborhood 1.

The Sims 2[]

Between The Sims and The Sims 2, a third child was added to the Simerburg family. Indeed, after being disappointed by his two children, Karl decided to have a third one that would be interested in following the family legacy. Lawrence, who got tired of his father's attitude, decided to leave the manor and to leave by his own. He now lives in a trailer next to he Brokes' one. The feud between the Goths and the Simerburgs got more important after Lawrence got rejected for very first kiss by Cassandra Goth.

The Sims 4[]

In the alternate universe, the Simerburgs children are a bit younger. Indeed, Lawrence and Anna are no longer adults, but teens, and their sister Laura is now a child. The whole family lives in the Oakenstead manor next to the Spencer-Kim-Lewis family household. Even in an alternate universe, the feud between Mortimer Goth and Karl Simerburg still exists. This time, Bella and Geneviève are implied.
