Knut Futa is a pre-made deceased Sim featured in The Sims 2. He resided in Strangetown, where he worked as a delivery man. His final delivery appears to have been to Olive Specter, as she has a memory of his untimely passing while visting her lot. His grave was originally intended to appear on her lot, though it is missing in the released game.[1]
He uses 1st Maxis face template and shares the same facial structure as Johnson Pai.
Character file[]
Knut has the most corrupted character file of any pre-made Sim in the game, missing almost every aspect of himself in-game other than his appearance. He has no age, aspiration, personality or genetics. He also lacks skills, interests, memories, and relationships of any kind. He is intended to be deceased, but his death state is not properly recognized as the flags to mark him as such are also missing. Knut's character file does contains remnants of data from an earlier stage of the game's development, but in a format that is not compatible with the released version of the game.
Although he has the appearance of an adult, his age data is missing and if spawned will behave like a baby. However, he can not be interacted with by any Sim and the game will force an error if any Sim tries to do so. The game may crash upon any attempt to age him up. His personality will be randomized and he will have no aspiration.
The missing data in his file can be restored using external tools such as SimPE to make him properly functional, though he may still exhibit unusual quirks in-game. For example, the game will ignore any personality data given to his file and will still randomize it when he is first spawned. Even though he is glitchy to a bizarre degree, making him properly playable will still not cause your neighborhood nor your game to become corrupted.[2]
A development image of the Specter graveyard shows the graves of Knut and Lou Thanasia on the lot and where they were to be positioned, but they are completely missing in the released game.[1] The development image also reveals Knut's name at one time was Berjes. Knut's delivery man outfit can be found in the Specter household's wardrobe, among other service NPC uniforms.
