The Sims 2: Bon Voyage The Sims 3: Sunlit Tides The Sims 4: Spa Day

A sauna is a comfort-boosting object in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and The Sims 4: Spa Day. It is also available after purchasing Sunlit Tides from The Sims 3 Store.

The Sims 2: Bon Voyage[]

Sweat It Out Sauna
Ts2 sweat it out sauna
Primitive sweat tents would provide early hunters and gatherers a chance to collect themselves, clear their minds, and sweat off any troubles they brought with them. The Sweat It Out Sauna has transformed this ancient ritual into an experience that is now much easier — no tent building necessary — and more communal, allowing several people to sweat off their troubles at once.

The Sweat It Out Sauna is a sauna featured in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage. It can only be used by teenagers, adults, and elders. Sims will change into a towel wrapped around their waist or body before entering the sauna. While inside, they will sweat often, indicated by a wiping of their brow. Up to five Sims can use the same sauna at a time, with the lower bench filling up first. Once two Sims are seated on the lower bench, any additional Sims that use the sauna will climb up onto the upper bench. The lower bench always has a vacant spot, intended for use by Sims on the upper bench should they wish to enter or leave. Sims on the lower bench may frequently have to shuffle over in order to allow Sims behind them to exit. Sims will autonomously socialize in the sauna.

The sauna also serves as a WooHoo spot, and Sims can WooHoo or Try for Baby in a sauna. When done on a community lot, it will give the "Public WooHoo" memory.

If Open for Business is installed, Servos cannot use the sauna.

If Seasons is installed, using a sauna will increase a Sim's internal temperature.

Saunas must be surrounded by a wall in order to exist. When purchased in buy mode, the sauna's walls will come pre-built, and will follow the sauna when moved. The walls can be repainted and reused, but cannot be removed without also removing the sauna. If the player removes one of the wall sections needed for the sauna, the sauna will be sold for its current value.

Saunas come in two colors — light and medium — and have panelings of the same color to match in build mode (titled "Heatonism Light Panel" and "Heatonism Medium Panel", respectively).

There are three different relaxation options:

  • Hydrotherapy provides the Recover Like a Sports Star moodlet. It takes away the soreness and fatigue moodlets obtained from working out.
  • Revitalizing Mud Bath provides the Inner Peace moodlet, which provides an extra day of life when used.
  • Enjoying a Refreshing Steam provides the Refreshed moodlet, which disappears when Sims exit the sauna.

Excessive use of the sauna will give Sims the Pruned moodlet.

Use of the sauna will provide a boost in energy.

The Sims 4: Spa Day[]

The StoneZone Sauna and Artificial Fever Sauna are two saunas that were introduced in The Sims 4: Spa Day. They can be used by children and older. Much like The Sims 2, Sims will change into a towel wrapped around their waist or body before entering the sauna.

Sims can WooHoo or can try for a baby in a sauna, and teens can Mess Around. Sims will get the "Hot N' Steamy" moodlet, which lasts for 4 hours and makes the Sim flirty.

Sims can die if they use the sauna too frequently. If a Sim uses the sauna when they have the "Superfluous Steaming" moodlet, they will die.[1]

Sims with level 5 mischief can play a prank by using the "sabotage with sulfur" interaction. The next sim to use the Sauna will get an hour long -1 uncomfortable moodlet.

The Sauna also has upgrades available for sims with the handiness skill. These include self-cleaning (no need to clean) and waterproof circuitry (will not break).
