Melinda Danders is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She was the wife of Marshall Danders, the mother of Diane Pleasant (née Danders), the grandmother of Daniel Pleasant (who is infamous for cheating on his wife, Mary-Sue Pleasant by conducting an affair with his housemaid, Kaylynn Langerak), and Jennifer Burb (née Pleasant), and the great-grandmother of Angela and Lilith Pleasant, and Lucy Burb. Although Melinda is deceased when the game begins, she appears in the family tree of her grandchildren Daniel and Jennifer.
Neither she nor her husband appear in The Sims, although their daughter Diane does. According to Melinda's SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was black before it turned grey. According to her age data, she had 16 days left in the elder life stage when she died. Like most pre-made deceased Sims from The Sims 2, Melinda is completely unplayable without the use of hacks or third party programs, such as SimPE. She, like Irma Oldie, as well as some other Sims, has an unused hairstyle, which appears to be a more solid version of the choppy hairstyle which is not unused.
