Rigger Mortis ( /ˈrɪɡər ˈmɔrtɪs/) is one of Olive Specter's many husbands. He died an early death, and, as with Olive's other husbands (including her ex-lover Earl E. DeMise, who left Olive at the altar), it is suggested that perhaps, Olive murdered him. This theory has not been proved, yet it is a strong possibility. Still, his bio in The Sims 3 seems to imply Olive was not directly involved in his death.
Rigger is buried in the cemetery on Olive's lot in Strangetown. His name is a play on "rigor mortis", the process of the stiffening of muscles in the body shortly after death has occurred. He died in a fire. According to Rigger's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned grey. Also, his age data indicates that when he died, he still had 26 days left before he would have died a natural death. When Resurrected, Rigger's age bar states he is negative 180 days old. Ichabod Specter shares a similar issue.[confirmation needed]
Contrary to popular belief, he is safe to resurrect in The Sims 2, as while he may be glitchy, this does not cause corruption to your neighborhood, nor to your game.[1]
He reappeared in Midnight Hollow, also as a ghost buried on Olive's lot. Unlike his counterpart in The Sims 2, he died by electrocution, as an adult. His skin is much paler and his eyes are white instead of grey in The Sims 3, however it's just to match the pattern of other deceased Sims in the world.
