Swimwear Sims 3 cropped

Swimwear is a category of clothes that a Sims game has specifically designated as being available for swimming, hot tubs, hot springs, and saunas.

Various exceptions apply:

  • Sims with the Never nude trait[TS3] will wear swimwear in the shower and in the bathtub.
  • Sims with the Insane trait or the Lunatic moodlet[TS3:SN] will pick a random outfit from any outfit category for swimming.
  • If The Sims 3: Late Night is installed, adult and elder Sims can "Skinny Dip" in hot tubs and swimming pools if there are no teens or younger on the lot, and that any teens or younger Sims on other lots are approximately 25 squares away or further. This will generate a pile of clothes nearby that other Sims can hide, leaving the affected skinny dipper embarrassed and putting on a towel.
  • Under normal circumstances, mermaids, Servos, mummies, SimBots, and Plumbots don't have swimwear outfits.
  • The process to designate additional existing outfits as swimwear in The Sims 3, is very complicated, but can be done with S3PE and detailed searching-through of FullBuild(…).package files.[1]

Notes[]

  1. It is possible to change the outfit in NRaas Master Controller's Stylist mode while in the midst of a dive, but changes rarely stick for long, the air tank becomes de facto invisible, and the chance of interfering with the snorkeling outfit is high.
