  • Less Sim customization and limit of creating one Sim per save game slot.
  • Bladder failure results in death.

Upgrade houses[]

In the iPhone and Android versions of the game, the only way to make the player's house bigger is to upgrade it through a message that pops up on the player's device screen or (after the message appears and is dismissed) by tapping the build mode icon at the bottom left corner of the screen and then tapping "Upgrade house".[confirmation needed]. There are 3 housing updates:

  • First update - Gives four plots of land to grow crops and a new room plus bigger spaces in existing rooms.
  • Second update - More rooms, bigger rooms and more garden space.
  • Third update - More rooms and bigger rooms, plus more windows and doors.

Discontinuation[]

The game and expansion packs were discontinued and removed from sale on August 11, 2017.[confirmation needed] As of 2023, the reason for the removals is currently unknown. The game can still be played if it was previously installed or downloaded from unofficial sources. It is unknown if the expansion packs can still be played.[confirmation needed]

Trivia[]

  • The Sims 3 Collectors Edition for smartphones was also released, however it was only available for T-Mobile customers who had purchased Samsung's Vibrant Galaxy S Android smartphone from them.[8]
  • Ruth could possibly be based on Grandma Ruthie from MySims because she and Ruth have the same appearance and their names are also very similar.[confirmation needed]
  • The game features brief special event images during certain important moments in a Sim's life, such as getting a new job, first kiss, and first WooHoo. This is reminiscent of the special event camera in The Sims 2.[9]
  • The game features a few unique music tracks, some of which play repeatedly.[confirmation needed]
  • Though Sims' houses are locked by default when Sims are away, Bernie's house can easily be broken into through the back door. His refrigerator is a good source of free food if the player does not want to pay for food.[10]
