A list of named Sims without individual pages who have appeared in images and videos to promote games in The Sims series, but do not appear in-game.

The Sims[]

Lawson family[]

The Lawson family appeared in a few promotional screenshots, as well as the manuals for the original The Sims and The Sims Deluxe Edition. They were seen inhabiting 8 Sim Lane and 2 Sim Lane, but their former homes are no longer present in the final game. They consisted of Michael Lawson, his wife Jenny, and daughter Anna. Michael Lawson is the name of a Product Analyst for the original The Sims, which means this family could have been inspired by him.

Wallace family[]

The Wallace family consisted of George Wallace, his wife Betty and daughters Mary and Ashley. Very little is known about them, as they are only seen on a few promotional screenshots. At some point they lived in 5 Sim Lane, which would later become the Goth family's home.

The Sims 2[]

Baxter family[]

The Baxter family appears in a developer's walkthrough for The Sims 2. It consists of Don Baxter, his wife Sarah, and their son Alex. Don and Sarah also appear in trailer for The Sims 2 Holiday Edition (2006). Their extended family includes Sarah's single sister Virginia, her single brother Jeremy, her father Chadwick and her deceased mother, whose name is unknown. There is a family snapshot of them in The Sims 2 game files, hinting that they may have been originally playable. Another hint toward this is the description for Waterside, the neighborhood they resided in, that survives in neighborhood manager file.

Don, Sarah, and little Alex settled down in Waterside. Sarah wants a bigger family, but Don still craves the romance of his youth. Can you hold this family together, or will these Sims just grow apart?

According to an article from thesimsnetwork from May 28th, 2004, they were playable in a demo version of The Sims 2 at the 2004 E3 event.

Waterside Dina[]

Dina is a Sim who lives in Waterside in the developer's walkthrough. She is Don Baxter's first love and is shown having an affair with him. It is likely she served as inspiration for Dina Caliente since they have similar appearances and both have romantic relationships with men named Don. Unlike Dina Caliente, she is not shown to have a sister.

Chris and Melissa Roomies[]

Chris and Melissa Roomies are two Sims who originally appeared together in The Sims. Two Sims who look somewhat similar to them were used in the official trailer for The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff.

Marcela Badeau is the cutest master thief in Sunset Valley, stealing hearts and TVs everywhere she goes.

Travis Chase[]

Travis Chase is a Sim who resembles a cowboy. Unlike the other promotional Sims, he does not appear on the cover for The Sims 3. There is a pre-made Sim in Create a Sim with his likeness.

Travis Chase is a real cowboy inside and out, from his pointy boots to his western style ranch house.

Nigel's cute guy looks and nice guy demeanor make him friends everywhere he goes.

Officer Roscoe[]

Officer Roscoe is one of the Sims who appear on the cover for The Sims 3.

Officer Roscoe would be Sunset Valley's finest cop if he wasn't a compulsive kleptomaniac.

Saffron Smith[]

Saffron Smith's a natural-born cook, and a natural-born klutz.

Jill Simon[]

Jill Simon is a 4-star celebrity Sim who was rumored to be featured in The Sims 3: Late Night. She was supposed to live in Bridgeport with two other Sims in a luxurious mansion with a curved pool in the hilly, more luxurious section of the city, further away from the city center. However, neither Jill, nor the household were featured in the game, and the mansion is actually Matthew Hamming's residence. Her appearance is similar to Olive Kipling. It's possible that she was created solely for previews.
