I was inspired to start this thread after reading this page here. It's about the individual Aspirations in The Sims 2 and the overall compatibility they have with the other aspirations.
Here is a list of the overall compatible and incompatible aspirations based on the information from the Chemistry page:

Note that any personal speculation this chart may contain won't necessarily be fixed
- There was a time where I thought that Family and Popularity Sims would be more compatible, as they both have aspirations that focus on socializing.
- I was surprised when I found that Knowledge and Pleasure don't go together very well, because Pleasure Sims like to go Downtown and Downtown is where Vampires hang out and Knowledge Sims don't mind vampires. Well I guess that's not enough to overlook the things that make Knowledge and Pleasure Sims so different.
- Despite Knowledge and Fortune Sims only getting a mild chemistry boost, if at all, I always imagined that they'd get a strong chemistry boost. Both aspirations are ambitious and learning a lot is a big advantage to those who want to earn lots of money. Despite their mild chemistry boost, I've always interpreted Knowledge and Fortune Sims as being compatible as Family and Knowledge Sims because their wants don't usually clash.
- I always thought that Popularity was the best pairing for Romance - at least until I discovered the Pleasure aspiration.

- The first table is actually better. The description of good / average / bad pairings are rather ambiguous since there are 5 outcomes. Nikel Talk – Vote! 12:05, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
- After reading your view on my table, I've decided to change it to make it more like the default. When I created my adaption of the table it was easier to merge five outcomes into three, since it was less complicated.
