Gobias Koffi is an adult male Sim, living in a modern beach house in Sunset Valley. He starts out working as a Fertilizer Analyst in the Science Career. There's not much known about his family, though his deceased father is Gaylord Koffi, who is buried at Pleasant Rest Graveyard. It is implied that he is homosexual. However, if he is not played and story progression is left on, he will infrequently be found in homosexual relationships, and will sometimes be married to a woman and have kids. He is 17 days from becoming an elder. He has 3 skill points in handiness and 4 in gardening. He is quite wealthy.
Gobias Koffi's name is a reference to the actor David Cross' character, Tobias, on the cancelled FOX show Arrested Development. In season 1 of the series, Tobias and his brother-in-law, Gob., decide to start a business, and come up with the name "Gobias... as in 'go buy us a cup of coffee'", hence Gobias Koffi. Tobias's homosexual tendencies and verbal double-entendres cause his sexuality to be called into question throughout the series. Gobias' sexual orientation is unknown. Gobias also shares Tobias' Never-Nude trait (a term coined by the show's writers to describe Tobias's fear of nudity) and he bears a physical resemblance to David Cross, the actor who portrays Tobias in the series.
His family is one of three families to have a special plant in their garden in the beginning of the game. The other two being the Langerak and the Wainwright families. This may be because he works as a fertilizer analyst, and received special plant seeds from his career.
He is the only playable Sunset Valley Sim who has the Never Nude trait, though Skip Javeed, an NPC, also has the trait.
It is possible that Gobias is obsessed with himself due to the unusual amounts of mirrors hanging around his bedroom.
In The Sims 4, there is a book written by him, called "Bangers are the Wurst".
