Gym is type of lot in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. It is also a lot assignment in The Sims 3.

The Sims 2Edit

All pre-made college sub-neighborhoods in The Sims 2: University have gyms, although those lots also have other uses. Downtown and Bluewater Village each have a lot which has a gym area, but those lots are primarily devoted to other uses.

The Sims 3Edit

As a lot assignment, gyms provide the Fit Atmosphere moodlet:

This moodlet would provide a boost to Athletic skill building, but it is badly programmed. Due to a bug in the game, Sims are penalized, and gain Athletic skill much slower than outside of gyms. It is recommended that players not use a gym for increasing Athletic skill.

The 28 Hour Wellness Gym is the default gym for Sunset Valley. It has two weight machines and two treadmills upon which Sims can work out. It also has showers, a small dining area, a small deck, and large swimming pool. It is also the Nintendo DS version of the gym.

Riverview Gymnasium is, as the name suggests, the default gym for Riverview. It has three weight machines and two treadmills, all recolored red, upon which Sims can work out. It also has showers, a small dining area, and large pool.

Lakefront Wellness Center is the default gym for Twinbrook. The gym area of the lot is in a basement, with the upstairs areas hosting a hall. There is a yard with a trampoline.
