According to Hamm's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was naturally blond before it turned grey.[1] When viewing his age data in SimPE, he had 34 days left before dying of old age, so he probably got access to the Elixir of Life at some point during his life.
His name is a play on the words Ham and Hog Leg, both of which are parts of a pig.
