Hybrid
The sims 2 hybrids
Some hybrids from The Sims 2.

This section is in need of additional information. You can help The Sims Wiki by expanding this section.

A hybrid is a Sim who has more than one life state, for example, a vampire-alien. These hybrids can bring a new dimension to the game, adding new difficulties and advantages. Just like The Sims 2, The Sims 3 does contain some forms of hybrids such as ghost-vampires. These hybrids only occur when a non-occult such as a ghost combine with an occult such as a vampire. Temporary life states such as zombies can also mix with almost any occult Sim, although there are some exceptions.

The Sims[]

In The Sims and its expansions, life states were not very well defined. Life states and hybrids were not clearly defined until The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. However, if the player has both Livin' Large and Makin' Magic installed, an early type of hybrid may be possible:

Zombie-Ghost: In a sense, this hybrid existed in Livin' Large, but was not controllable. The zombie life state was gained when a Sim died but was resurrected by the Grim Reaper as a zombie. With Makin' Magic, this "hybrid" could be controlled when a zombie casts the "Shed Your Skin" charm. The charm allows a Sim to turn into a controllable ghost for a period of time. This hybrid is essentially the same as a normal Sim who has cast the "Shed Your Skin" charm, as a zombie in The Sims is a Sim with a special skin tone and no personality points. The Sim will be able to go through certain objects and talk to other ghosts, but cannot go through walls.

The Sims 2[]

Alien[]

Main article: Alien

The Alien life state is just a skin tone and different genetics - therefore it can be coupled with any other life state that a normal Sim can be transformed into. This usually results in the creature having a different color skin tone; for example, a vampire-alien hybrid will have a turquoise skin tone. Since a normal Sim cannot become a Servo or Bigfoot, an Alien-Servo or Alien-Bigfoot is not possible.

Ghost-Alien
Since Aliens are virtually identical to Sims, Alien-Ghosts are virtually identical to Sim-Ghosts.
Zombie-Alien
Zombies of this type are identical to other Zombies, however the only difference is that the alien eyes remain the same.
Alienvampire

Alien-vampire hybrids will keep their large eyes.

Vampire-Alien
When created without mods, the Alien's skin turns turquoise and their black eyes turn red.
Werewolf-Alien
Werewolf-alien hybrid

An example of an Alien-Werewolf Hybrid

These Werewolves will have black sclera along with their yellow irises and their skin under their fur will turn slightly darker.
Plant Sim-Alien
Indistinguishable from an ordinary PlantSim. Genetics remain the same.
Witch-Alien
An Alien with alignment overlays, which add sparkles in good alignment and green skin for evil. The darker green skin completely overwrites the alien skin, so no mixes in tone can be seen, unless in some cases where the Sim ages or goes through plastic surgery, which may result in keeping the light green skin tone on the face and dark green tone on the rest of the body.

Mannequin[]

The Mannequin life state is just a hidden skin tone and different genetics - therefore it can be coupled with any other life state that a normal Sim can be transformed into. This usually results in the creature having a different color skin tone; for example, a vampire-mannequin hybrid will have a pale bluish grey skin tone. Since a normal Sim cannot become a Servo or Bigfoot, a Mannequin-Servo or Mannequin-Bigfoot is not possible.

Ghost-Mannequin
Since Mannequins are virtually identical to Sims minus the skin tone, Mannequin-Ghosts are virtually identical to Sim-Ghosts.
Zombie-Mannequin
Zombies of this type are identical to other Zombies. Male Zombie-Mannequins have nipples whereas ordinary Male Mannequins do not.
Vampire-Mannequin
When created without mods, the Mannequin's skin turns a pale bluish grey and their eyes turn red. Mods exist to override these changes and occasionally, though not usually, create fangs. Male Vampire-Mannequins have nipples whereas ordinary Male Mannequins do not.
Werewolf-Mannequin
These Werewolves will have black sclera along with their yellow irises and their skin under their fur will turn slightly darker.
PlantSim-Mannequin
Indistinguishable from an ordinary PlantSim. Genetics remain the same. Male PlantSim-Mannequins have nipples whereas ordinary Male Mannequins do not.
Witch-Mannequin
A Mannequin with alignment overlays, which add sparkles in good alignment and green skin for evil. The darker green skin almost completely overwrites the mannequin skin, so no mixes in tone can be seen, apart from the skin having a slightly lower saturation than usual. Evil Warlocks have nipples whereas ordinary Male Mannequins do not.

Zombie[]

Main article: Zombie

Again, the Zombie life state is just a skin tone, a few autonomous reactions and a funny walk style, therefore it can be mixed with any life state.

Alien-Zombie
A Zombie with alien eyes.
Mannequin-Zombie
Indistinguishable from a normal zombie, since zombies can have black alien eyes, unlike mannequins who have pale brownish grey eyes instead.
Ghost-Zombie
Indistinguishable from a Ghost excluding skin and occasional thoughts of brains.
Vampire-Zombie
Zombievampirehybrid

A vampire-zombie hybrid expressing both vampire and zombie idle animations.

Zombies are similar to Alien-Vampires, but their skin turns a bluish grey, albeit textured as a Zombie. They retain their Zombie shuffle and are otherwise the same.
Servo-Zombie
OFB Gallery 1

An example of a Zombie-Vampire-Servo Hybrid

Looks like an ordinary Servo but walks how Zombies walk and thinks about brains
Werewolf-Zombie
Merged abilities, the werewolf 'lope' overwrites the zombie shuffle and is a corrupted combination, creating a Zombie that behaves as a Werewolf with no fur. Mods can repair this impairment, but unfortunately with no zombie skin showing through. See also: Technical explanation
PlantSim-Zombie
Indistinguishable from a PlantSim except for the shuffle and portrait.
Witch-Zombie
Indistinguishable from a Zombie excluding alignment skin overrides, which turn the Sim sparkly white or sparkly green for good and evil, respectively.

Vampire[]

Main article: Vampire

Vampire Sims are pale with fangs, and have a group of unique interactions.

Alien-Vampire
When created without mods, the Alien's skin turns turquoise and their black eyes turn red. Mods exist to override these changes and create fangs only.
Mannequin-Vampire
When created without mods, the Mannequin's skin turns a pale bluish grey and their eyes turn red. Mods exist to override these changes and create fangs only.
Ghost-Vampire
A dead Vampire looks like a ghost that died of starvation , which is transparent. (Ironically, vampires can't die from starvation.)
Zombie-Vampire
Zombie-Vampire Sims are similar to Alien-Vampires. But their skin turns a bluish grey, albeit textured as a Zombie. They retain their zombie shuffle and are otherwise the same.
Servo-Vampire
Servos can become a Vampire, meaning that they'll die in the sun. This is solved by having the Servo sleep in a coffin. The Servo's eye will be red in color.
Werewolf-Vampire
This combination can be very irritating and can kill your Sim if you are not careful, as transformations take place on milestones in the day. If the Sim is close to death, this transformation will kill them of starvation. Otherwise, the Sim will inherit all abilities of both.

This life state also causes some glitches. Upon trasforming into a werewolf, vampire's teeth will get lost and won't return upon transforming back into a vampire, additionaly, there's a rare chance that the icon will show Sim in a neutral "T-Pose".

PlantSim-Vampire
While these life states seem contradictory on the surface, Vampire PlantSims can easily maintain their sunlight need with a sun-lamp above their coffin.
Witch-Vampire
Witchvampire

Nina Caliente as a witch-vampire hybrid.

The same as a Vampire, excluding the possible skin-tone changes made by the alignment of good and evil. A good Vampire-Witch will have sparkly skin, and an evil vampire-Witch will have turquoise skin.

Servo[]

Main article: Servo
ThatsaLotOfServos

A familly of all types of Servo hybrids (Except Ghost).

Servos are android Sims built at the Robot Crafting Station. They break down when wet and have to be repaired.

Vampire-Servo
Servo can become a Vampire, meaning as well as shorting out in water, they'll also die in the sun. This is solved by having the Servo sleep in a coffin. The Servo's eye will be red in color and will have fangs.
Werewolf-Servo
Servo will have a yellow eye at night and will behave the same as an ordinary Werewolf. The power motive will freeze at night.
Witch-Servo
Servo will have a blue glow if infallibly good, green if atrociously evil, but no skin tone changes.
Zombie-Servo
Servo will walk and act like a zombie, no changes in its appearance.
Ghost-Servo
Servo will act like a ghost and will be colored depending on the cause of it's death.

Werewolf[]

Main article: Werewolf

Werewolves are Sims which have been infected with Lycanthropy, a life state introduced in Pets.

Alien-Werewolf
Green alien skin will show through the fur on the face.
Mannequin-Werewolf
Pale grey mannequin skin will show through the fur on the face.
Zombie-Werewolf
Merged abilities, the werewolf 'lope' overwrites the zombie shuffle and the skin-tone of the Sim before they died shows through hair on face.
Vampire-Werewolf
Hybrid

Vampire-Werewolf icon profile showing "T-Pose".

This combination can be very irritating and can kill your Sim if you are not careful, as transformations take place on milestones in the day. If the Sim is close to death, this transformation will kill them of starvation. Otherwise, the Sim will inherit all abilities of both.
Servo-Werewolf
Servo will have a yellow eye at night and will behave the same as an ordinary Werewolf. The power motive will shoot up at night.
Witch-Werewolf
The same as a Werewolf, excluding the possible skin-tone changes made by the alignment of good and evil. A good Werewolf-Witch will have sparkly skin showing through fur, and an evil Werewolf-Witch will have green skin showing through fur.
Bigfoot-Werewolf
Impossible combination; a werewolf can savage Bigfoot, and they will win the fight, but Bigfoot will not change.

PlantSim[]

Main article: PlantSim

PlantSims are green with unique clothing, and fewer motives. They have a unique leafy hair-style.

Alien-PlantSim
This section is in need of additional information. You can help The Sims Wiki by expanding this section.
Mannequin-PlantSim
This section is in need of additional information. You can help The Sims Wiki by expanding this section.
Ghost-PlantSim
Indistinguishable from an ordinary PlantSim.
Zombie-PlantSim
Indistinguishable from a PlantSim except for the shuffle and portrait.
Werewolf-Plantsim

An example of a Werewolf-PlantSim

Vampire-PlantSim
Indistinguishable from an ordinary PlantSim, except for fangs. Water need drops in Sun rapidly and will smoke still. Cannot wilt as needs go static when Sim passes out from water and Sun need i.e. Cannot die from PlantSim or Vampire Deaths. While these life states seem contradictory on the surface, Vampire PlantSims can easily maintain their sunlight need with a sun-lamp above their coffin.
Werewolf-PlantSim
A normal PlantSim during the day. At night, a normal Werewolf with furry hands, feet and a hairy face, but also some PlantSim characteristics such as the PlantSim outfit and leaf-hair.

Witch[]

Main article: Witch

Witches come in three alignments: Good, Neutral, and Evil. They can use magic. Being Neutral does not affect their appearance, but having the Good or Evil alignments dictate their skin tones.

Sim-Witch
A Sim with regular Sim skin, which add sparkles in good alignment and green skin for evil. However, they don't have any powers.
Alien-Witch
An Alien with alignment skin tones, which add sparkles in good alignment and green skin for evil.
Mannequin-Witch
A Mannequin with alignment skin tones, which add sparkles in good alignment and green skin for evil.
Ghost-Witch
Does not harness whatever abilities they had when they were alive. These Sims behave the same as a normal Ghosts, but they inherit Witch skin-tone changes.
Zombie-Witch
Indistinguishable from a Zombie excluding alignment skin overrides, which turn the Sim sparkly and green for good and evil, respectively. The witch will gain the zombie portrait idles.
Vampire-Witch
The same as a Vampire Sim, excluding the possible skin-tone changes made by the alignment of good and evil. A good Vampire-Witch will have sparkly skin, and an evil Vampire-Witch will have turquoise skin. Custom skin clashes with the face color, so be careful. Also the witch will gain the vampire portrait idles.
Servo-Witch
Has a blue glow if infallibly good, green if atrociously evil, but no skin-tone changes.
Werewolf-Witch
The same as a Werewolf, excluding the possible skin-tone changes made by the alignment of good and evil. A good Werewolf-Witch will have sparkly skin showing through fur, and an evil Werewolf-Witch will have green skin showing through fur.
PlantSim-Witch
Is essentially the same as a Witch, gaining a pointed hat over their Plant-Sim hair that cannot be removed without the assistance of mods.
Bigfoot-Witch
Bigfoot will gain a warlock hat and will gain all of the magical abilities of a witch.

Super-Hybrid[]

There is a possibility to make a mix-up of more than 2 hybrids, and thus, a chance to create a "Super-Hybrid" possessing abilities of multiple creatures.

MadisonTheHybrid

A described Super-Hybrid

HybridSims2

Another example of a Super-Hybrid but with visible Werewolf transformation and Alien eyes.

To accomplish the best and visible results of a Super-Hybrid, lifestates should be applied in specific order:

  • PlantSim
  • Vampire
  • Witch (good)
  • Zombie
  • Werewolf

Hybrids created this way will have visible abilities of all the lifestates: A visible PlantSim skin covered with blue-ish vampire color and witch's yellow dots, their icons will show Sims in a zombie poses and the Sim will walk like a zombie, and finally during the night, the Sim will start to walk and behave like a werewolf.

However, this hybrid combination will also cause some glitches, as the Sim will show multiple idle animations at once, causing sound glitches, the Sim will lose vampire teeth when transforming into a werewolf and can have a T-pose icon, also the werewolf transformation will not be visible other than showing werewolf behavior.

Other lifestates could also be applied, but wouldn't give proper results:

  • Alien - Both skin and eyes would be covered by PlantSim and Vampire lifestates.
  • Mannequin - Same as Alien.
  • Ghost - would turn transparent, but would completely hide Zombie and Werewolf lifestates by replacing walking with floating.
  • Evil witch (instead of good witch) - PlantSim skin would be nearly invisible.

Note that it is not possible to create a successful Super-Hybrid with Bigfoot or a Servo as both have limited amount of transformations.

Trivia[]

  • Vampire-Werewolf hybrids have multiple glitches, most notably upon trasforming into a werewolf, vampire's teeth will disappear and won't return upon transforming back into a vampire, additionaly, there's a rare chance that the icon will show Sim in a neutral "T-Pose" when transformed into a werewolf.
  • A Witch-PlantSim hybrid will give Sim an unique hairstyle in form of leafy hair with witch's hat, this hairstyle cannot be accessed in Create a Sim even with testingcheats enabled.
    • Bigfoot-Witch's hats also cannot be accessed.
    • Servo-Witch and Servo-Werewolf also cannot be accessed in CAS, even though Servo-Vampire can be accessed.
  • A Servo with features of more than one creature (eg.Servo-Vampire-Witch) Will have only the last obtained lifestate visible on it's head (eg. will have witch's hat but no vampire teeth)
    • Removing one of the lifestates might remove all visible signs of lifestates from it.
    • Werewolf-Servo will always overlay other lifestates when turning into a werewolf.

The Sims 3[]

In The Sims 3, occult life states are deliberately programmed to be mutually exclusive. A Sim should, in theory, only ever have one occult status. EA programmed the game so that hybrids with anything other than the ghost life state - which is not handled as "occult" but has its own set of coding - should be impossible. However, numerous glitches and oversights in the code allow glitched Sims that some players regard as hybrids. These Sims are often safe to play, but not well-supported by the game's coding, and should be made with caution. Preliminary evidence suggests that zombies in The Sims 3: Supernatural are coded more similarly to ghosts than to occult life states, as the zombie life state can be overlaid upon the werewolf or fairy life state.[1] It has been reported that when two supernatural creatures in Supernatural, such as a werewolf and a vampire, have a child, the child will be born as either a vampire or a werewolf rather than as a hybrid. Hybrids may be easily created using NRaas Master Controller. In addition, NRaas Hybrid mod can be installed to fix issues that can occur with hybrid combinations that are normally not allowed in the game.

Additionally, with Alien DNA percentage being tracked independently of any occult states, Imaginary Friends made real being treated by the game as non-occult, and some permanent occult states (e.g. fairy) being easy to combine with temporary zombie and Tragic Sim states, it is possible with hybrids of 4 or more species, even if they aren't all strictly treated as occult.

Ghost[]

So far, a ghost can be a hybrid with any life state, considering that all life states can die.

Ghost-Mummy
Mummy-ghosts frighten Sims more often. Mummy-ghosts retain their mummy interactions, and still have the mummy walk. Mummy-ghosts are not afraid of fire either.
Ghost-SimBot
These Sims will float instead of walking or flying. They still have the rest of their SimBot abilities. Unless mods are used, the only ways for a SimBot to die are by drowning, old age, and meteor.
Ghost-SimBot-Sim
When a child made by a glitch in story progression causing a SimBot and a Sim to have a child dies, it will become a ghost-SimBot-Sim; a Sim who looks like a ghost Sim but acts like a SimBot.
Ghost-Vampire
These Sims will float instead of walking or extra fast running. They still have the rest of their vampire abilities though.
Ghost-Imaginary Friend
These Sims will float and have the abilities of an imaginary friend. Their light bulb will be a different color, though.
Ghost-Genie
These Sims retain all of their Genie abilities, as when they were alive.
Ghost-Werewolf
The hybrid ghost will look like a normal ghost Sim and float. It will still retain all Werewolf abilities. When the Ghost-Werewolf transform into a Werewolf they will look like a werewolf except for their semi-transparency.
Ghost-Fairy
This hybrid is possible when a Fairy dies. They look like normal ghosts, with the exception of their wings. Fairy-Ghosts still have the abilities of Fairy, as they did when they were alive. This hybrid is also possible when a fairy and a ghost try for a baby together.
Ghost-Witch
These Sims will have all Witch abilities previously available, and look like a ghost.

Ghost Hybrid Glitches[]

Ghost-Witch
These Sims will have all Witch abilities previously available, and look like a ghost. When entering CAS this Sim will appear as a human Sim instead of a ghost but when out of CAS they will appear as a ghost-witch.
Ghost-Simbot-Sim
When a Simbot-Sim dies, they become a Ghost-Simbot-Sim. This type of ghost will look like any normal Ghost and they retain their Simbot walk even though they are dead. It can unlock all Simbot abilities.
Ghost-Mummy-Sim
A very rare combination that can only happen when one of the parents of the mummy-Sim is also ghost, and hope you get lucky. Please see Mummy-Sim under mummy to learn how to do make a mummy-Sim. These Sims will walk instead of float, but that is really the only notable difference.
Ghost-Vampire-Imaginary Friend
These Sims have the abilities of both imaginary friends and vampires. These Sims float and glow extra bright. Their light bulb will still be a different color. This Sim is the result of a glitch in EA's code that fails to clean up the Imaginary Friend trait from baby Sims.

Mummy[]

Main article: Mummy

Mummies are dressed entirely in rags, and have hollow eyes. They wear loincloths, and players cannot change their clothing. They are afraid of fire, and walk in a slow lurching way.

Mummy-Ghost
Mummy-Ghosts frighten other Sims more often. Mummy-Ghosts retain mummy-specific interactions like 'Talk About Sand', but aren't frightened by fire like living ones. Unlike their plain Ghost counterparts, Mummy-Ghosts still lurch instead of floating. Also, a Mummy-Ghost will no longer have hollow eyes.

Mummy Hybrid Glitches[]

Mummy-Sim
Occasionally nicknamed "zombie". Occurs when after a female Sim is pregnant and the male Sim becomes a mummy before the baby is born (preferably before the belly even starts growing). The baby can inherit the mummy trait or, strangely, they will usually inherit the mummy walk (hence why it is occasionally nicknamed "zombie") and the "absorbent" skin (when they walk into a puddle they get soaked). This is an oversight in the way EA coded trait inheritance. If a baby born with the mummy hidden trait is cured, they will also become a mummy-Sim (although occasionally they keep the frozen energy and bladder needs). These Sims can become vampires and can be edited in CAS (with the unlockoutfits cheat and Ambitions, you can apply make-up to the mouth to make it look like it has blood on it). These Sims usually lose their abilities after dying or placed in the bin, so they can't be uploaded exactly the way they are, and it is not advisable to share glitched Sims.
Mummy-Sim-Ghost
If one of the parents of the soon to be mummy-Sim is a ghost, there is a possibility that it will also be a ghost. These Sims walk instead of float.
Mummy-Sim-Vampire
Mummy-Sim-Vampire

Example of Mummy-Sim-Vampire

Using the glitch above, a mummy-Sim can become a vampire. These Sims will have almost all abilities of a vampire, all except the vampire run. These Sims will still do the mummy walk instead.

SimBot[]

Main article: SimBot

A SimBot is a robot-lifestate that very well could be a Servo prototype. They are typically invented at a Scraptronic™ Workbench. Sims can become a SimBot using a potion created from the Alchemy skill.[TS3:SN]

SimBot-Ghost
SimBot-Ghost

SimBot ghost

A SimBot ghost behaves just like a normal ghost, but looks like a SimBot.

SimBot Hybrid Glitches[]

SimBot-Vampire
Your Sim will have the SimBot walk and fly with rocket shoes, however it can be a little slow. Your Sim might get affected by sunlight and water. This hybrid can only be obtained with the use of cheats.
SimBot-Genie
With this hybrid the SimBot won't have the Genie abilities. It looks like a normal Genie and has the SimBot walk. This hybrid can happen by cheating with Master Controller.
SimBot-Sim
Occasionally nicknamed "cyborg", this is due to a glitch in story progression. After having an average female Sim and a male SimBot in the same household and changing the active household to another family, the game may automatically make them have a child. The child will have all the abilities of a SimBot, but will look like a normal Sim.
SimBot-Sim-Ghost
Looks like a normal Sim ghost, but acts like a SimBot. These Sims float instead of walk.

Vampire[]

Main article: Vampire (The Sims 3)

A Vampire is a Sim that has pale skin and can drink blood from other Sims.

Vampire-Ghost
A vampire-ghost is the same as any ghost. They keep all vampire characteristic, including the ability to drink from other Sim. But they are slightly brighter than the average ghost
Vampire-Witch
Vampires can become a witch by drinking elixir or genetics. With this hybrid Vampire can cast spells and drink plasma from Plasma Packs or Juice, or by biting other Sims. (this seems to be fixed in version 1.42)
Vampire-Zombie
Like a Fairy, Vampires can become a Zombie by drinking an elixir or getting bitten. They look like a Vampire but their walk is just like that of a zombie. They can bite other Sims, spreading the Zombie curse instead of Vampirism.

Vampire Hybrid Glitches[]

Vampire-Simbot
This hybrid can be really irritating. Your Sim will have the Simbot walk and will fly with rocket shoes. It can be really slow. Your Sim might get a negative affect from sunlight and water. This hybrid can only be obtained with the use of cheats.
Vampire-Mummy-Sim
Using the glitch mentioned when making a mummy-Sim, that mummy-Sim will become a vampire. These Sims will have almost all abilities of a vampire, except the vampire run, they will do the mummy walk instead.
Vampire-Imaginary Friend
Although an imaginary friend cannot become a vampire, a vampire and imaginary friend can have a hybrid baby together due to a glitch where the game does not clean up the invisible Imaginary Friend trait.
Vampire-Imaginary Friend-Ghost
So far the most complex hybrid available, same as a Ghost with vampire characteristics and the ability to turn into a doll, can only be made if a vampire and an imaginary friend have a hybrid baby and dies and gets resurrected through the OH, My Ghost! opportunity or a Sim who has already completed the opportunity and gained the ability to bring a Sim back at the science lab.
Vampire-Genie
There is a rare chance that if a vampire and genie breed, the child can be a hybrid of both of the parents' lifestates. The child has vampire abilities such as drinking plasma out of the fridge, but he/she does not have genie abilities other than the idle animation. However if the vampire state were to be removed from this child, then it would be able to utilize its genie abilities
Vampire-Werewolf
Can occur with the offspring of a Vampire and Werewolf couple. The child gains abilities from both states including being able to drink plasma juice while also being able to eat regular food.

Imaginary Friend[]

Main article: Imaginary Friend
Imaginary Friend Ghost

drink a ghost potion

Imaginary Friend-Ghost
If they drink a ghost potion while in their doll form, they will look just like an imaginary friend that is a ghost (although the lightbulb will be a different color), but if they died in their Sim form, they will look like a normal Ghost. (They can only die if they have been turned real).

Imaginary Friend Hybrid Glitches[]

Imaginary Friend-Vampire
Although an imaginary friend cannot become a vampire, a vampire and an imaginary friend can have a hybrid baby together. Imaginary Friend-Vampire hybrids can only bite other Sims while in their "Sim" form (or more correctly "Vampire" form, but the game does not reference this appearance as such).
Imaginary Friend-Genie
Much like the aforementioned vampire hybrids, a genie and an imaginary friend can interbreed and produce a baby with the abilities of both life states at once. Imaginary Friend-Genie hybrids can both switch to toy form and use most genie powers, although a full genie's ability to magically clean other Sims will be absent for some reason.

Genie[]

Main article: Genie

Genies are Sims that can be summoned from the Dusty Old Lamp and have the ability to grant various wishes. They can be freed and will act as a normal Sim with a few abilities.

Genie-Fairy

This hybrid produces children that have a similar if not identical skintone to the Genie parent (a shade of blue) but do not have any of the Genie abilities. However they do have the Fairy abilities along with Fairy wings that are identical to the fairy parent. There is also a chance for the child to receive genetic traits that are usually recessive e.g. blonde hair from one blonde haired parent and one black haired parent.
Genie-Ghost
Acts the same as any ghost, but retains the Genie abilities.

Genie Hybrid Glitches[]

Genie-SimBot
With this hybrid the SimBot won't have the Genie abilities. It will look like a normal Genie and have the Simbot walk. This hybrid can happen by a cheat in Master Controller.
Genie-Imaginary Friend
As mentioned above, a genie and an imaginary friend may interbreed and have a chance of producing hybrid offspring due to a glitch where the game fails to clean up the Imaginary Friend hidden trait.
Genie-Vampire
There is a rare chance that if a vampire and genie breed, the child can be a hybrid of both of the parents' lifestates. The offspring has no genie abilities other than the idle animation and show no physical signs of either vampire or genie. The child does have vampire abilities such as drinking plasma out of the fridge.

Fairy[]

Main article: Fairy

Fairies are Sims that can fly and perform magical tricks introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. A Sim can become a fairy by drinking the "Bottled Blessing of the Fae" elixir, or by a special opportunity.

The Sims 3-Fairy-Ghost

An example of Fairy-Ghost that died of Blunt Force Trauma.

Fairy-Ghost
This hybrid is possible when a Fairy dies. They look like normal ghost, but have wings and still have their own abilities of Fairy.
This is also possible if a Fairy WooHoos with a Ghost Sim, the child may be born as a ghost with fairy wings. It will show "Fairy" as the supernatural type in CAS, but will have the appearance of a ghost Sim.
Fairy zombie

A zombified fairy (Pip Goodfellow).

Fairy-Zombie
A Fairy can become a Zombie by getting bitten. However, they are only Fairy-Zombies on full moons because Zombies only appear during a full moon. When there is no full moon, the Fairy-Zombie will look like a normal Fairy. When under the full moon, the fairy-zombie's wings will be black instead of their normal color. The Zombified elixir can also make them be a zombie for 2 days, and they can also be Zombified from the Peashooter or the dream pod,[TS3:ITF], in which cases they will have zombie interactions regardless of the moon phase.

Fairy Hybrid Glitches[]

Fairy-Witch

This hybrid has the abilities of both witch and fairy, the lifespan of a fairy. The magic meter will deplete on both sides, but can sometimes have unlimited magic for some reason

Sims3hybrids

Some various hybrids

Fairy-Werewolf
This is a possible hybrid if a Fairy tries for a baby with a Werewolf. The offspring will have wings on its back and the ability to transform into a Werewolf. They will have abilities from both Fairy and Werewolf.

Witch[]

Main article: Witch

Witches are Sims with magical powers. A Sim can become a witch via the "Bottled Witch's Brew" elixir or genetics. This life state was introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural.

Witch-Ghost
These Sims will have all Witch abilities and look like ghosts.
Witch-Vampire
A Vampire can become a witch by drinking the elixir or though genetics. These Sims can cast spells and drink plasma juice from a fridge.

Werewolf[]

Main article: Werewolf

Werewolves are Sims who can transform into wolf-like form and howl at the moon introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. A Sim can become a Werewolf by drinking the "Bottled Curse of the Lycan" elixir or genetics. Sims could also ask a werewolf to "Receive the Werewolf Curse".

Werewolf-Ghost
The hybrid ghost will look like a normal ghost Sim and floats, but you can control it. It will still have all Werewolf abilities. When the Ghost-Werewolf transform into Werewolf they look like a werewolf except they invisible and have color.

Werewolf Hybrid Glitches[]

Werewolf-Fairy
This is a possible hybrid if a Fairy tries for baby with a Werewolf. The offspring will have wings on their back and they can transform to Werewolf. They will have abilities from both Fairy and Werewolf.
Werewolf-Vampire
Can occur with the offspring of a Werewolf and Vampire couple. The child gains abilities from both states including being able to drink plasma juice while also being able to eat regular food.
Werewolf-Witch
Can occur as a glitch as editing a human through CAS multiple times, changing their life state. They can transform and hunt as a werewolf, and can also perform magic like a witch. Some of the witch magic options such as, "Play with magic" may be missing.

PlantSim[]

Main article: PlantSim

The PlantSim is a life state included with The Sims 3: University Life. PlantSims cannot get pregnant. They can produce a Forbidden Fruit seed, plant it, grow it, and pick the fully grown fruit. Picking a fully grown Forbidden Fruit has a 50% chance of producing a PlantSim baby.

PlantSim-Vampire

Mods exist that allow PlantSims to undergo a normal pregnancy. If a vampire and a PlantSim try for a baby, there is a chance the baby will be a vampire-PlantSim hybrid. The hybrid will have all PlantSim and vampire abilities. However, they are not weakened by the sun like pure-bred vampires. These hybrids have the same aging as vampires and glow slightly. Although the hybrid can drink from other Sims and turn them into vampires, they have a PlantSim's needs meaning they don't have to eat.

Zombie[]

Main article: Zombie

Zombies are cursed Sims randomly spawned during full moon of the lunar cycle. A Sim can become a zombie by drinking 'Zombified' elixir or getting bitten. This life state was introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural.

Zombie-Fairy
A Fairy can become a Zombie by getting bitten. But they only appear as a Fairy-Zombie in Full Moon because Zombies only appear during that time. When there is no Full Moon then the Fairy-Zombie will just look like a normal Fairy. The Zombified elixir can also make them be a zombie for 2 days, and they can also be Zombified from the Peashooter or the dream pod,[TS3:ITF], in which cases they will have zombie interactions regardless of the moon phase.
Zombie-Vampire
Like Fairy, Vampires can become a Zombie by drinking elixir or getting bitten. They look like a Vampire but their walk just like a zombie and they can bite another Sim.

Mermaid[]

Main article: Mermaid

Mermaids are Sims that grow a tail when in water and were introduced in The Sims 3: Island Paradise.

Mermaid-Vampire
This hybrid is possible if a mermaid is bitten by a vampire, or by a rare chance genetics. This hybrid will have the mermaid's needs instead of the vampire's needs, such as thirst.[confirmation needed]
Mermaid-Ghost
The hybrid ghost will look like a normal ghost Sim and floats, but you can control it. It will still have all Mermaid abilities.

Grim toddler girl from The Sims 3

In The Sims 3, it was possible to create a Grim Reaper hybrid, since Sims could use the "Try for Baby" interaction with the Grim Reaper. The resulting Sim would be completely black, lacking any skin tone data. This was removed in Patch 2. It is the only example of an 'accidental' life state due to programming error.

With The Sims 3: Late Night, by adding the Reaper in your band you can then invite him over for an extended amount of time as with any NPC and you can do any normal interactions with him.

This can also happen when you have saved the Grim Reaper into the Sim bin, and then changing the life stage.

The Sims 4[]

Hybrids appear in The Sims 4. Since few supernatural life states have been added so far, the possibilities for hybrids are limited. Temporary life states like PlantSim or Skeleton are also available to all hybrids.

Ghosts[]

Main article: Ghost

Ghosts come back as non-playable Sims that haunt the area around their graves upon death. Developing a good relationship with them can allow Sims to ask them to join the household.

Any Sim, as well as all before-mentioned hybrids, can become a ghost after dying, thus adding the ghost life state to them, making vampire-ghosts, alien-ghosts etc. Even though Servos produce a tombstone if they die, they do not turn into ghosts. However, they can be turned into ghosts by using the Whispering Wishing Well.

Aliens[]

Main article: Alien

Get to Work added aliens to The Sims 4. Aliens are a very intelligent species that originate from the planet Sixam.

Alien-Sim
If a Sim and an alien try for a baby, the baby might be either a pure alien or an alien-Sim hybrid. The hybrid has the colored skin tone of their alien parent. It does not have any of the special abilities aliens have in The Sims 4, though it will have some special dialog interactions. A hybrid can be created through Create A Sim mode by playing with the genetics of an alien and a Sim. These hybrids can produce either pure Sim or Alien-Sim hybrid children. Alien-Sim hybrids can become a vampire without any penalties alien-vampire hybrids have, and can also become a ghost, thus making a complex "alien-Sim-vampire-ghost" hybrid.
Alien-Vampire
Aliens cannot normally be turned into vampires in The Sims 4. However, vampirism can be passed down to children regardless of the method of the parents' impregnation. If a male vampire is impregnated through abduction, the child will just be a normal alien, however. An alien-pregnant male Sim can be bitten to begin the vampire transformation. Due to the faster incubation period of vampirism compared to the alien pregnancy, this Sim will transform into a vampire before the baby is born, which does not remove the pregnant moodlets or expanded belly, and so the Sim can pass the vampire life state on. A cheat can also add the vampire trait to aliens making them an alien-vampire hybrid.
A hybrid child produced in this way may not be immediately recognizable. The most obvious sign of vampirism occurs when the child ages to a teenager, at which point their vampire abilities manifest. However, as early as the toddler stage, the hybrid state can be observed via a visual glitch in Create-a-Sim (i.e. through the dresser), in which switching between alien and disguise forms will cause the toddler to spin around with the vampire Reveal Dark Form animation (and briefly appear to be an adult as the animation was not intended to play on younger Sims).
An alien-vampire hybrid displays all the abilities of both life states, with one significant exception: As the game handles alternate forms in the same way, regardless of which life state made them available, the alien disguise form and the vampire dark form actually occupy the same slot - and so, for example, the Sim may use the vampire Reveal Dark Form ability to change forms, and the alien Remove Disguise ability to change back. However, due to these hybrids being undocumented and unofficial life state, it will have several glitches, and after several reverts to normal form and back, these Sims will gain some standard default alien appearance in "undisguised" form, i.e. this random default alien form will completely override normal Sim appearance (usually happens after age transition to young adult).
A safe way to create an alien-vampire hybrid is by first creating a vampire with no dark form, and then adding the alien trait via cheats. The resulting Sim will be treated as the alien disguise, but as long as they do not remove their "disguise" and generate an alien form, they should be safe to play.
When a vampire and an alien mate without cheats the resulting child will look like a hybrid of the two, but will only have alien powers.

Vampires[]

Main article: Vampire

Vampires are an undead supernatural being with dark powers of the night, introduced in Vampires.

Vampire-Sims
Vampire-Sim hybrids can be made from a vampire and Sim trying for a baby. The baby may be born as a Sim without any vampire powers or special interactions, but may inherit vampire eyes or ears.
Vampire-Mermaid
Vampire-Mermaid hybrids can be born from a vampire and mermaid trying for a baby. The baby may be born as either a vampire or a mermaid, but may inherit vampire/mermaid eyes/skin tones.
It is also possible for a bugged Sims to be created when a Mermaid and Vampire have a child, causing the dark form to override the Mermaid Form.

Mermaids[]

Main article: Mermaid

Mermaids are an aquatic adapted species of Sims with powers around water and siren songs, introduced in The Sims 4: Island Living.

Mermaid-Sims
Mermaid-Sim hybrids can be made from a mermaid and Sim trying for a baby. The baby may be born as a Sim without any mermaid powers or special interactions, but may inherit mermaid skin tones if the mermaid has them in their human form.
Mermaid-Spellcaster
Mermaid-Spellcaster hybrids can be made from a mermaid and a spellcaster trying for a baby. The baby will be born either a mermaid or a spellcaster, but the spellcaster does have mermaid magic (like mermaid's kiss or siren's lullaby) in addition to the usual spellcaster powers.

Spellcasters[]

Main article: Spellcaster

Spellcaster-Alien
Spellcaster-Alien hybrids can be born from an alien and a spellcaster trying for a baby. The hybrid will have both characteristics, alien and spellcaster. Though they won't have a disguise and changing their appearance in CAS will cause a reset and randomize their face after saving. The same applies to their outfits if they are being changed on a dresser. Once they lost their spell powers after completing the "Rite of Dissolution", it will no longer be possible for them to become a spellcaster again.
Spellcaster-Vampire
Spellcaster-Vampire hybrids can be born from a vampire and a spellcaster trying for a baby. The hybrid will have both characteristics, vampire and spellcaster. Though they won't have a dark form and the vampire powers cannot be accessed, because they are being overlapped by the spellcaster perks. Once they lost their spell powers after completing the "Rite of Dissolution", it will no longer be possible for them to become a spellcaster again.
