The Knack family are closely associated with arts and crafts, hence their name, which draws on the term 'knick-knack', and also 'knack' as an ability to do something.
The Sims Bustin' Out
The Knacks first appeared with Nicki Knack, who ran Nicki Knack's Bric-a-Brac in Bustin' Out. It is not known whether Nicki Knack is related to the Twinbrook Knacks, but she has a similar theme to them suggesting that she might be.
The Sims 3 Ambitions
The Knacks in Twinbrook live at Pheasant Hollow, 26 Puddlewick Drive, in the wealthiest suburb in Twinbrook. Apparently this wealth stems entirely from Pattina Knack's artistic talents. They have one of the largest residential lots in Twinbrook, with a spacious basement kitchen. There is some conflict between grown-up daughter Julienne and her mother Pattina, and Nick Knack feels caught in the middle.
