Here is the list of glitches in The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval.
All The Sims 3 era games
Load game error
A load game error can occur in either The Sims 3 or The Sims Medieval when the game is unable to load the saved game or World file.
Save game error
Save game errors occur in The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval when the game is unable to save.
The Sims 3 (Windows and Mac OS X)
All versions
Ramirez glitch
A saved game that displays Ramirez instead of the original household name.
If a saved game is corrupted, sometimes the game will be changed. The tool tip will say that it might be saved in Expansion Pack data that does not exist even if that Town (Such as Bridgeport) exists in that game.
The household name would be Ramirez instead of the original household name (e.g. Hemlock if the Hemlock family was being played as) even if a household was not played, the time would be read as 12:00 AM rather than the original time the game was saved at and the date as 12:45AM instead of the original date. The family description would be Lot description. Also it shows a family thumbnail (Which is displayed if a Town was saved without playing a household) but shows that a household was being played.
If a different save is selected and then the corrupted save is selected, the save would have the name and description of the last save such as the Hemlock name and description.
Windows XP NVIDIA crash
On Windows XP with an NVIDIA driver version 191 would cause The Sims 3 and/or Windows XP to crash. A newer driver fixes this issue.
The crash does not occur in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Due to different driver versions) or in The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories. The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff and The Sims 3: Design & High-Tech Stuff later put a warning in the readme regarding this issue.
Law Enforcement/Medical and Take Unpaid Time Off glitch
On the Windows and Mac OS X, Law Enforcement[1] and Medical will override the Take Unpaid Time Off when it calls a Sim to work when the message is displayed. When Take Unpaid Time Off is used, it does not stop them from going to work but will delay the day they go to work.

Error Code 16
Some users after installing World Adventures got the Error Code 16 bug.
The Sims 3 High-End Loft/Design & High-Tech Stuff
Buy a Video Game System glitch
In the 3.0 and 3.1 versions of The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff and The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff, the “Buy a Video Game System” wish would not be completed when buying the “GUGA JoyToy 3” and “Console 7” video game systems. This was addressed in 3.2, Ambitions and later games.
The Sims 3 Ambitions
CAW Crash
In The Sims 3 Ambitions and the Ambitions update, Create a World would crash. The Ambitions compatible version and the update fixes this.
Ghost glitch
There is a possible glitch that the ghost will leave the graveyard or behave differently in Ambitions or Deluxe. They will leave their tombstones and then exit the cemetery via a random car or a Taxicab.
The Sims 3 Late Night
Bad Mood glitch
The bad mood glitch is a bug that occurs in the Late Night update through Generations, it gives the Sim a bad mood. It is caused by fully sleeping on a cheap bed.
This glitch is not present in the original version of Late Night, The Sims 3 Fast Lane, Ambitions, The Sims 3 High-End Loft/Design & Hi-Tech, The Sims 3 World Adventures or the original The Sims 3. However, the glitch will occur in Fast Lane and prior games (Including The Sims 3 Deluxe) if the Nov 30, 2010 update is installed.
Good Mood glitch
The opposite of the bad mood glitch, it gives the Sim indefinite good mood. This glitch is present since Patch 18. It is caused by fully sleeping on a high quality bed.
Minor glitches
- Ambitions lot crash
In the original version of The Sims 3 Late Night, placing a lot in Bridgeport, editing the new lot and then returning to Edit Town will cause a Game Crash which is caused by Ambitions Lots. This was fixed in 6.1 update and The Sims 3 Outdoor Living.
- Skip Impressing Celebrity
It is possible to skip impressing the Celebrity by switching households. For example, if the Sim you are trying to socialize with is Emmy Starr but you must impress her (As she won't socialize with you), you switch to Old and New Glam and then switch back. You will be able to socialize with Emmy Starr despite that you had not impressed her. This is still works on Outdoor Living and later games.
The Sims 3 Generations
Memory glitches
Memory glitches exist in Generations and Town Life. There are 2 versions of the glitch.
China freeze glitch
In Generations, when the player heads to China, the game will lag and freeze for a few seconds. This does not effect France or Egypt.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise
Mummy's Curse underwater death glitch
When a Sim dies of Mummy's Curse while scuba diving, the ghost does not appear until the ghost jumps to their grave and the Grim Reaper will remain stuck underwater forever.
Minor glitches
- Uninstall DVD glitch
In Windows, if the user inserts The Sims 3 Generations DVD, the user will be prompted to uninstall The Sims 3 Generations rather than opening The Sims 3 Launcher.
- Create a World Edit in game glitch
If the update from May 31, 2011 is installed, using the Edit in Game mode will cause The Sims 3 Launcher to open instead. This will not occur if The Sims 3 Generations is installed as Generations will be opened by Create a World.
- Motive Magenta 3000 motive glitch
The Motive Magenta 3000 does not max out a vampire's Thirst need but maxes out other motives. Humans will have their Hunger need filled so these Sims are not affected by this glitch.
The Sims 3 console games
The Sims 3 for PS3 & Xbox 360
Save glitch
- Not to be confused with Save game error.
In the original version of The Sims 3 for PS3 and Xbox 360, the game may freeze when trying to save the game. Electronic Arts have released an update that fixes this problem.
Cursor glitch
In The Sims 3: Pets for console, the cursor might disappear and the camera will be stuck on the selected sim. To fix this, save the game, exit, and reload.[confirmation needed]
The Sims Medieval
Tutorial glitch
In The Sims Medieval, if the player replaces a graphics card or updates the video driver, the player will be forced to redo the Tutorial. It can be fixed by editing the Options.ini file to disable the Tutorial.
Make War Face

In The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles, there is a responsibility that requires a Sim to Practice War Face. However, Make War Face interaction requires very high relationship which only works when the Sim is Best Friend.
