The medicine cabinet was first introduced in The Sims and could be purchased from the "Miscellaneous" section in buy mode. Sims can either practice speech with it like any other mirror, or brush their teeth with it. Unlike later games, Sims do not require a vanity in front of the cabinet in order to brush their teeth.
The Sims 2: Apartment LifeEdit
The Sims 2 did not ship with a medicine cabinet in the base game, but they were reintroduced with the Apartment Life expansion pack. Medicine cabinets can be used for toothbrushing and for face washing, both of which provide a slight boost in hygiene. Two medicine cabinets were shipped; one does not have a mirror, while the other has one on the front cover. Both cabinets require a sink in front of the cabinet in order for the "Brush Teeth" and "Wash Face" interactions to appear.
Unreflected Pride Medicine CabinetEdit
The Unreflected Pride Medicine Cabinet does not have a mirror. Sims can use the cabinet for toothbrushing and face washing, provided that there is a sink in front of the cabinet.
Reflective Pride Medicine CabinetEdit
The Reflective Pride Medicine Cabinet has a mirror, and Sims can use the mirror to build charisma or gussy up, even if there is no vanity in front of the cabinet. Sims still cannot brush their teeth or wash their face with the cabinet if it lacks a sink.
