Robert Newbie moved to Riverview with his beloved wife, Mags, and their son, Bob. He is an an avid fisherman, which is why he moved to the sleepy banks of the Simomon River. He is concerned that his son is spending far too much time indoors reading and wishes that Bob would clean up his messes and join him fishing.

He was married to Mags Newbie, as we see on his family tree. Together he and Mags had a son, Bob Newbie, who is intoduced in the tutorial of The Sims. Bob, Sr., is the grandfather of Bob, Jr.'s daughter, Brandi, who was the product of the marriage between Bob, Jr., and his wife, Betty Newbie. Bob, Sr., is also the great-grandfather of Brandi's children; Dustin Broke, Beau Broke, and an unborn son.
