Skip Broke is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable, Sims featured in The Sims 2 as ancestors of playable, pre-created Sims. Though deceased when the game begins, you can see him in the relationship trees of playable Sims Dustin Broke, Beau Broke and Unborn Son Broke, who are his sons. You can also see him in the relationship tree of his wife, Brandi Broke.

During his adult lifetime, he resided in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods that ships with The Sims 2.

As a child, he lived in Riverview, one of the towns that is available for The Sims 3. He is playable in The Sims 3.

Skip Broke lives in Riverview with his parents Flo and Flat, his sister Ruby, his uncle Buck, and his cousins Trigger and Susie. Although he marries Bob and Betty Newbie's child, he is only 7 days younger than they are. This means that, for a while, Bob, Betty, and Skip are all teens at the same time.

By the time the storyline has caught to The Sims 2, Skip Broke is already deceased. His death is explained as "suspicious pool ladder accident" because he drowned in the pool in the back of the family's house. "Suspicious" hints that the accident wasn't just a stroke of bad luck, but at the same time, it doesn't clearly say that there is a killer somewhere. For that reason, Skip's death is something of an open-ended mystery. Although his grave is nowhere to be found, he is resurrectable. Skip's past life is explained in the family photo album. When he met Brandi, he immediately fell in love with her and they were engaged (later - married). Judging by pictures in the album, it appears that they lived at the Newbies' for some time. It's not clear whether they moved out or rebuilt Betty and Bob's old house. When the already mentioned "suspicious pool ladder accident" happened, he left Brandi to take care of Dustin Broke and Beau Broke alone.

[edit] Two Skip Brokes

If you check Brandi's memories you'll find out that there are two Skip Brokes but which one is real and which is not is quite debatable because one Skip appears in the family photo album, while the other one appears in the relationship tree - and is also resurrectable. However, the Skip that appears in the family photo album is not resurrectable, which means he is unplayable, unlike the resurrectable and playable Skip.

They look alike in some ways. Both Skips wear black and white T-shirt with jeans, but the colour of their eyes is different. Unresurrectable Skip has dark blue eyes, but resurrectable Skip has green ones, which hints that the real father of Dustin Broke and Beau Broke is the Skip with dark blue eyes, although they are not linked to him in the relationship tree. This is also proven in Brandi's memories, which show that she met Skip with green eyes only once, then she met and married Skip with dark blue eyes.

When it comes to their character, both Skips have the Aries zodiac sign, but unresurrectable Skip has the Popularity aspiration while resurrectable Skip has the Romance aspiration. Unresurrectable Skip is extremely interested in crime, weather, food, travel, and the environment. Resurrectable Skip, on the other side, is interested in sports, travel, politics, and fashion.

Brandi's memories clearly state that she gave birth to Beau after Skip's death. If she'll have another child with Skip, it would mean that she'd WooHooed with Skip's ghost, which is very unlikely to happen. Perhaps this is the reason there are two Skips in the game. When Maxis created the first, unresurrectable Skip they killed him before finding out that they needed a father for Brandi's upcoming child, so they created a likeness of Skip - the second, resurrectable Skip.
