The Sims 3 The Sims 3 (Nintendo DS) The Sims 4: High School Years

A stadium is a rabbit hole building in The Sims 3.

Gameplay descriptions[]

This is where Sims can get a job in the Professional Sports Career or attend an Athletic class. Sims with high athletic skill or have the virtuoso trait are attracted to stadiums.

Sims can spend leisure time attending sports game or concert here and as the theater, provides a cheap (if somewhat slow) way to get the Having a Blast moodlet.

Stadiums are one of the properties that Sims can partner with and own in The Sims 3.

Generally, a stadium is often combined with a public school in a multi-purpose rabbit hole. However, the Schmidt Memorial Stadium in Sims University is combined with the annex in a multi-purpose rabbit hole, while the The Binder Clips Center in Starlight Shores also functions as big show venue shell building.

Stadiums generate the following red map tag in-game, as well as a light blue opportunity map tag.

Functions[]

The stadium hosts sports games (Wednesdays and Sundays) and music concerts (Some Saturdays) that Sims can attend. Being a rabbit hole, players will not see the game. It also has weekly events such as the Amateur Olympics. Going to the stadium can grant moodlets.

Uniquely to Sims University[TS3:UL] (with no known way to enable it for other worlds), stadiums placed there have an option to "Play Collegiate Sport…", which will increase Jock influence while sharply reducing the Energy motive.

Varieties[]

Self-built stadiums[]

It is perfectly possible to build a stadium as a standard public lot, with a small playing field, seating terraces, and food and bathroom facilities. However, the sports would be amateur only (i.e. no payments), goal-based sports (e.g. basketball, soccer goal) would not feature playing from one goal to another, and the building should keep in mind that Sims get very easily bored when sitting in couches or seats and that fewer than 15 spectators would be on a lot at a time.

Sports activities necessary to build a functional stadium are included in The Sims 1 (Basketball) and The Sims 3 (American football, baseball), whereas The Sims 2 players need either The Sims 2: Bon Voyage (Log rolling) or The Sims 2: Freetime (Soccer, basketball).
