- I don't think that those foods belong on this page. They are foods available at bars and clubs. To my knowledge, you can't make them at home without a mod. And they aren't available "favorite" selections. Is there a general food page? ✿ ✝rimalynn

TS2 Favorite Food[]
Nightlife added a minor feature, quite vague, which is favorite food. Every Sim is automatically set a favorite food, and it can't be changed by any way. This can be viewed when a Sim goes dining. When Sim looks at the menu, a thought bubble with a food in it tells the Sim's favorite food. The only purpose of this is to add a few score for outing and dating.
Hence, I'd like to ask whether it's essential to be added in this article, or it will only smear it as this article only describes TS3. Nikel Talk 11:23, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the food that shows in the thought bubble is what that Sim would like to eat at that meal. It appears to be based on how hungry the Sim is, as it always seems to be something that just fills the Sim's Hunger bar. I don't think it is a true favorite food, and therefore, it should not be mentioned. Dharden (talk) 20:35, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I actually have 2 evidence, but not too strong. Prima Guide stated it clearly, and it has brief impact on outing feature. The other one can be found in ffs debugger. There, you can see a Sim's favorite foods, which are interestingly different based on the podiums (NL or OFB). I never doubt Pescado's work. Also, try using your Sim dining over and over (by using NL podium to make things less confusing), and see what's on his thought bubble. Nikel Talk 15:25, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I checked the "batbox" and it does have that option. I'm assuming it's a token, somewhat like the "One True Hobby", and guessing that it might be set for each podium when a Sim eats at a restaurant that has that podium. Showtime Favorite?[]
It says that Chad Luck has Vegetarian Lobster Thermidor favorite food. Is it a new favorite food? Are there many favorite foods in Showtime that have not been added here? Or it's simply a variation of Lobster Thermidor, and Chad's favorite food should be rewritten with just Lobster Thermidor instead? Nikel Talk 07:20, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Do names affect favourites?[]
A few (real) days ago, I had a infant whom I named Horus. His favourite music was Egyptian and his favourite food was the Falafel. Is this just a coincidence? 66.190.69.246 (talk) 14:44, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

- Yup, or maybe the game searchs the name of the baby sim on the internets, and then gives out matching traits and favorites based on what the game found.
- Plus, you can have a sim named Horus even before installing WA (I.E. just the base game) so... 94.37.72.231 (talk) 13:41, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
- The Sims isn't an online game, and it is clearly answered by Nikel. If you agree with this then My baby's name is Elisabeth and she likes kids and hamurger, since my Sim's name is an English and the favorites isn't likely a British type. - Yup, let's say i'm playing the Keatons and when the baby is born i name him Horus, depending on the expansion i have his fave music could be anything from DigiTunes to Dark Wave to Beach Party to Rockabilly to Songwriter to everything in between. Sea Foam[]
There's something weird about this color. The UI.dll file determines its red component as 270 (which is greater than 255) and when converted to hex its value is turned into 0e (as ff + 1 = 0 etc.). This hex color is also used for the sonic shower waves and the synthesized drinks causing them to be rather turquoise. After further testing, I also found out that the amount of red was supposed to be 207 - two digits were simply switched. --84.179.223.190 (talk) 17:33, April 26, 2015 (UTC)
- I would say that you are probably right because 270 is rounded as a value of 0E or 14 by most editors (including in-game). However, some graphic editors cap values over FF or 255, which would make 270 FF or 255. Comparing the three color values, I would say that 207 would be the intended color as it matches the name. Here's a table below to show the three colors.
