i will download anything, even if you tell me it has a virus, ( jk, just emphasizing my love for the thing ) to get a cowplant for the sims 3! And milk it and feed it and everything in Sims 2 university. please someone help in my quest for the mod or make it or help me or tell me how to make it. I heard it's easy to mod that game series.

Seriously, though. that would make my life completion +1%

Possible return in Generations?[]

yes i said it. there's new non-buyable badges on thesims3.com These badges will act like achevements/trophies and be awarded for doing specific things. Well two of them are related to the cow plant, and the way they are worded gives the assumsion that the Cow Plant will return in Generations. [1] Here are the descriptions of both badges; "show others you know how to use this carnivorous bovine to your advantage" and "so you've resisted the charms of this femme fatale and her tempting cake. Immortalize your survival with this badge". The Black Scorpion 13:32, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Interesting, though till we see'th it in 'tis game will 'thou's information not be use'thed. --Zombie talkblog 14:00, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

It currently hasn't been confirmed, so I would say it will not return in Generations. -XoTulleMorXo (talk and contributions) 17:02, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Soo now there is a plant for TS3, right?[]

I saw on the facebook page that they offer it for the game it's the same like in ts2. but can it eat and killl your sims? I mean what color will be the ghost? :D—Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex9400 (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

The cowplant is currently available in The Sims 3 Store as Premium Content. However, at this time it can only be bought as part of the Killer Classics set unless you know the gifting trick that lets you gift or be gifted a store item that's buy button has been disabled/hidden. Also, yes it's almost exactly like the cowplant from The Sims 2: University except that it takes a very long time for it to get hungry and offer it's cake. Furthermore, it will not eat children or Sims with low hygiene. Nor will it eat Sims in the active household if it is on their lot. Said Sims will ignore the cake. Another thing to note is that many are having issues with it not eating anyone, this is most likely a glitch.--The Black Scorpion 10:46, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Cowplant (TS2) rejecting a Sim[]

There appears to be at least one other reason for the Cowplant to reject a Sim. I play "in rotation", and one of the playable Sims in my neighborhood is very mean and an inveterate newspaper-stealer. I have tried to get a Cowplant to eat him when he appears as a walkby (or paper-stealer) at other Sims' lots, but he has always been rejected even though he does not stink. Dharden (talk) 15:12, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

The seemingly-inedible Sim lives by himself. Could it be that the Cowplant will not eat a visiting playable Sim if that would cause his or her household to become empty? Dharden (talk) 16:37, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Possibly, but unlikely. He might have immunity or something? Using Pescado's batbox to remove the immunity might help. Otherwise, I'll check that possibility. Nikel Talk 05:07, May 12, 2012 (UTC)
I've noticed the same thing with another playable Sim who does not live alone, so that's (probably) not it. In my game, it has no problem eating townies, but doesn't seem to care for uncontrolled playables. Dharden (talk) 05:32, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
Sometimes I got some problems when making a townie selectable. The cowplant just won't eat them. They might have some sort of immunity which prevents them from dying, but I don't know in what condition they get that. Nikel Talk 08:09, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
The only things my rejected Sims have in common is that they are playable and are Knowledge Sims Dharden (talk) 13:42, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe it's because the sim is mean. Just guessing though. Luigis1upstand (talk) 07:44, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
Mean Sims deserve to be eaten. XP Kidding. :p Nikel Talk Vote! 08:09, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Argh[]

I meant the summary of my edit to say that, if we are going to say that the Cowplant's milk is the Elixir of Life, a source should be provided for that. I hit Enter by accident. Dharden (talk) 23:42, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Cowplant and the Nanny[]

I did see a nanny walk through a locked gate (set to household only) in order to get to a Cowplant. I exited without saving before seeing if she would feed the plant or take the cake. Dharden (talk) 18:41, September 27, 2013 (UTC)

Title[]

If Laganaphyllis Simnovorii is the name of a species, shouldn't it be "Laganaphyllis simnovorii", with s in lowercase? Nikel Talk Vote! 05:05, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Life stage?[]

Can someone confirm if the life cycle of a Cowplant really is referred to as "life stage," or did someone just make it up? If it's the latter, then "growth state" suits better than "life stage." Nikel Talk Vote! 12:09, September 26, 2014 (UTC)

There are life stages or growth stages to the cowplant, look on the Wiki page for the cowplant lifestage part and you'll see images of it from sprout form and baby form. WizardJeremy (talk) 23:12, September 26, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I understand the Cowplant has growth state, but it isn't really suitable to call it a "life stage" nor is it comparable to Sim's life stage. Normal plants in The Sims 3 also have growth states, but don't need to be specifically distinguished. Nikel Talk Vote! 13:33, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

Death by cowplant[]

Why did it say that being eaten by cowplant sets a random death to the eaten Sim in The Sims 2? If I recall correctly, the death by cowplant did exist and was unique in that series. Any explanation to that? Nikel Talk Vote! 15:19, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
