Opportunities[]

Does it have opportunities? 21:52, December 31, 2009 (UTC)

There are adventure opportunities. --a_morris (talk) 21:57, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure if they were added in Ambitions but I've had oppertunities to bring nectar to my workplace. Law Enforcement and Military careers. The reward was work performance and a lot of simoleons for 6x Excellent+ nectar bottles. Duskey 09:51, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
I know the law enforcement career frequently gives opportunities for bringing in bottles of Nectar. I don't believe I've ever received a skill opportunity for Nectar making though. Tchotchke 00:31, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps mark those which are verified to be amazing and copy to main page or apply the strikethrough format to those which are verified to be false?

What we really should do is create a flavor index to rank recipes properly. Say nectar making skill 10 sim using perfect fruits with no upgrades, no challenges and basic option on the machine and then note the start value of the nectar. That'd be the only way to rank them properly. Duskey 23:04, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Found two more supposedly amazing flavors not on the list at More Awesome Than You forum contributed by Metalkatt

  • 8 Flame Fruit, 2 Cherries
  • 7 Flame Fruit, 1 Life Fruit, 1 Avorlina Grape, 1 Plum

Duskey 23:04, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Verified and put all of the above recipes on the main page. | Duskey | 16:17, June 14, 2010 (UTC)s

Other Recipes[]

Nectar made from 1 lifefruit, 3 firefruits and 6 apples resulted in "Full of Life", "Warm Fuzzies" and "Commanding Complexity" moodlets. It's classified as bad, though. 10 nectar making, extended nectaration. Barhandar 14:53, June 3, 2010 (UTC)

I made a 6x Grapes, 3x Flame fruit, 1 Life fruit which came out as 'good' and valued at §171 with skill 10, no masteries, flavor enhancement and extended nectaration. Duskey(talk)(blog) 13:02, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

The Picture[]

I think the picture is ugly. No offense meant. But it's blurry, and have a blue thing on the lower right. I hope someone could get a high def photo instead...

It was ugly, it's gone now. Duskey 10:43, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Vizard of Vine challenge[]

I am having a lot of trouble with the 'Vizard of Vine' challenge. I have produced lots of homegrown grapes and it hasn't completed?! Does it have to be in France as my sim has a nectar machine in his house?! Help would be kindly received. Thanks. Somalicous.

I haven't done this myself, but make sure your sim making the nectar is the same sim who is planting the grapes. Duskey 09:46, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
There's a bug in this challenge. If your sim travels abroad the counter goes back to zero and you have to start over. Once you finish the challenge it doesn't matter, but make sure to stay in town while attempting the Vizard of Vine challenge. (Also, normal grapes don't count if I remember correctly) Tchotchke 00:28, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

History of Nectar Making[]

The page now states that Anastasia invented it, probably from the kidnapped questline in France involving Landgraab's Mansion, but wouldn't the Tomb of Jean Necteaux precede it by many years? I remember recieving an over 6,000 year old bottle from that questline. To be sure we'd need the text from those two adventures. Duskey 10:00, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

It was Jean, though I haven't replayed the adventures. | Duskey | 21:55, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

Bad quality nectars[]

I don't know how to make nectar that's quality is worse than normal... Anyone knows? LuisaaaPlayer 09:45, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

The quality of the ingredients have to be bad, foul, putrid, or horrifying. --Walker guy94 [MyTalk|MyBlog] 10:03, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
And where I can get those ingredients? From found bad quality seeds? LuisaaaPlayer 11:40, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
You can plant those ingredients and use deathfish as fertilizers to reduce the quality of the harvested ingredients. I haven't confirmed this by myself, but it should work. --Walker guy94 [MyTalk|MyBlog] 08:04, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
When I sent my sims to France for the first time, they bought grapes from the stand (10 of each type of grape sold there, which is two). One made nectar with 6 grapes of the first kind and 4 of the other kind, and the seond sim made the opposite. Both were bad, but the second combination was worse, according to the pop-up. Playeroflif3 (talk) 02:25, October 14, 2013 (UTC)
I'm 99% sure Deathfish will kill the plant entirely. Duskey(talk)(blog) 12:48, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Help with Nectar Making[]

Using 5 Watermelons and 5 Apples you can create a Good Concoction for your sims to enjoy! (Emeraldisverycool 12:02, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

False Information[]

Nectar was never the food/drink of the Gods in Greek mythology, it was ambrosia, which was often likened to a nectar-like substance. This information is false and should be removed. 109.154.178.131 (talk) 14:43, September 28, 2012 (UTC)

No, that information is actually true.Надія(hope),сла́ва (glory), Любов (love) (talk here) 14:48, September 28, 2012 (UTC) Lesya Zirka

A recipe[]

Here's one I found 6 apples, 2 flame fruit, 2 Watermelon.Niko 2010 (talk) 15:05, December 21, 2013 (UTC)

Inaccurate recipe value[]

Based on my findings here, it's impossible for the recipe of 5 pomegranates and 5 cherries to be worth §800. Besides, I've checked it myself with the best possible multipliers and it's worth far less than §800. Unfortunately I forgot to write down the value. I think it's around §300 to §400. "Best Recepies" asterisk note innacurate[]

Below the table in the section here is an asterisk comment implying that the recepie of 6 life fruit, 3 flame fruit, and one other fruit does not extend lifespan. I have tested on a fully updated build of Sims 3, WA, Late Night, Ambitions, and Supernatural and found that consuming nectar made from this recpie does, in fact, extend lifespand. I'm deleting the notation now; if my findings are found to be innacurate with a current build, please reinstate the note. 172.242.111.50 (talk) 07:10, January 1, 2015 (UTC)WaywardPaladin

The lifespan extension effect is only applied if the nectar was made by a Sim with maxed Nectar Making skill. I assume the user who made that claim as false didn't know this beforehand. But thanks for fixing that! I barely noticed it before. Nikel Talk Vote! 13:51, January 2, 2015 (UTC)
