Old Town in Other Neghborhoods?[]

I'm wondering if Old Town appears im the other neighborhoods. If not, is Old Town an empty space with empty lots or is the whole Old Town part exclusive to neighborhood 1? OoppDecks (talk) 10:47, November 15, 2014 (UTC)

Old Town appears in all neighbourhoods with all full-built lots. - KaruKaterchen The Sims 1 Plumbob (talk Category:Fanon created and owned by Karu Katerchen|/ fanon) 10:56, November 15, 2014 (UTC)
This may not be the case. I just installed The Complete Collection for the first time and Old Town only exists in the first two neighborhoods. The rest feature empty lots which cannot be interacted with in any way. Glitchipedia (talk) 12:55, March 9, 2016 (UTC)
That sounds like a bug for sure. Old Town is pre-loaded from a template folder and should be identical for every neighborhood, even new neighborhoods that you create. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 13:12, March 9, 2016 (UTC)
Could it be from the user data folders in the game folder? I don't recall seeing a file related to Old Town other than the characters, houses, etc..., But I mostly think it's because when starting the game for the first time ever (If with an expansion pack) It will start notes telling the player to wait until the extended neighborhoods and sub-neighborhoods load, was the game interrupted in the time of loading? It's the only logical reason for me. Jadd.H (talk) 15:58, March 9, 2016 (UTC)
This loading process is repeated every time a neighborhood is entered for the first time after installation. So if an interruption could explain the issue in one neighborhood, it wouldn't explain the problem for the other five neighborhoods. Glitchipedia, if you want to discuss the problem further, I'd recommend starting a thread in the help desk, as game help is off-topic to this talk page. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 17:37, March 9, 2016 (UTC)
There will be no need for that, I have solved the problem. I suspect the cause was my careless attempt at importing user data from a previous installation of Deluxe Edition; if I'm not mistaken, the files LotZoning.iff, LotLocations.iff and StreetNames.iff were thus out-of-date or missing and needed to be copied in from the TemplateMagictown folder. Bulldozing in other neighbourhoods?[]

Are there any reprecussions if you bulldoze all old town lots in neighborhoods 3-8. Knowing all the neighborhood corruption and damage in the Sims 2, etc from deleting households would it be perfectly safe to bulldoze every lot and delete each household giving the neighbourhood a fresh start? If that makes sense, thanks in advance! 101.100.139.34 (talk) 05:49, October 16, 2017 (UTC)

No, the whole scare about corruption in The Sims 2 is not present in The Sims 1. Besides, bulldozing lots in either game doesn't cause corruption (Unless you bulldoze a lot with graves in it in The Sims 2; see Game guide:Avoiding corruption for more on that). It is perfectly safe to delete Sims in The Sims 1 too. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:17, October 16, 2017 (UTC)
That's good to hear, the Sims 2 has the tendancy to make me irrationally paranoid with corruption so it's definitely a relief to know my Sims 1 neighbourhoods will offer more stability. Thank you again for the info! 101.100.139.34 (talk) 04:17, October 17, 2017 (UTC)
