Alphaville is the largest residential city to choose from in The Sims Online. It is one of 12 major cities in the game. It is notable, as it is the largest city in the game. Similar to Betaville, the name of the city derives from the first letter of the Greek alphabet being Alpha, with Beta being the second.

One of the sports teams in The Sims 3 is called the Alphaville Alpacas.

The city name derives from beta testing as well as Beta being the second letter of the Greek alphabet, whereas Alphaville utilises the first letter.

It is probably a reference to a Calvin and Hobbes strip, where Calvin claims to have discovered a creek, even naming it after himself, but Hobbes says that he may not have been the first, so Calvin renames it 'Hobs crk' instead.

Test Center is one of the cities to choose from in The Sims Online. It is one of 12 major cities in the game. It is also special since when a Sim moves in, they get §60,000 instead of normal §20,000, but he/she is unable to move out. After a game update EA tested new objects there, similar to Betaville which uses beta testing for the city name and it was also used to test new objects.
