The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff includes new features. For example, new NPC Santa Claus, who will arrive at night when there's Santa Cookies baked near fireplace and a Christmas Tree. Also, there's a new option to throw a New Years Bash. Your Sim can throw a New Year's Bash (regardless of date, it can be celebrated any day). The difference from throwing house party is that the New Year's Bash will always start at 8 PM and a new NPC Father Time will come at 11 PM. However, you must throw this party between 7 PM and 8 PM. Otherwise, a police officer will shut down the party at 11 PM.
Sims cannot throw a New Year's Bash in an apartment lot.
