Release and post-releaseEdit

Sweet Treats was first discovered as the 6th stuff pack from a South African gaming retailer at the start of 2012. It was announced on April 3, 2012[3] and was released on June 8, 2012 in North America. The Steam Version became available on November 20, 2012 along with Diesel, Supernatural and Seasons.

On July 15, 2013, a Community Manager for EA confirmed [4] that this stuff pack has been retired and is no longer available on Origin. Therefore, EA will not produce any more physical or digital copies of Katy Perry's Sweet Treats.

Price concernsEdit

When the game was announced, several users from The Sims 3 forums had expressed concerns[5][6][7] of the pack's price being US$30, €30 and £25 compared to US$20, €20 and £10 which is the price of other stuff packs.

Some users said that Katy Perry's contract may be the cause of the price increase as they also compared it with The Sims 3: Showtime: Katy Perry Collectors Edition. Other users said that it was due to the fact that the pack has a lot of content compared to other stuff packs.

NotesEdit

  • A live chat was announced on the same date of the pack's announcement, and it was broadcast on April 12, 2012, 10am Pacific Standard Time.[8] A second live chat was announced on the same day of the first live chat and it will be broadcasted on May 24, 2012, at 10am Pacific Standard Time.[9]
  • The pack's name is different from other stuff packs' names, because its name does not include the word "Stuff".
  • The pack's price was higher than other stuff packs in The Sims 3, but the price[10] is now the same as other Stuff Packs.
  • This is the first stuff pack to date in The Sims 3 era to have a delayed release on Steam.
  • Katy Perry appeared in the official trailer for the Stuff Pack.
