Hello. I have a question that hopefully can be answered.. I want to add Skip Broke to my new town Summer bay. I have tried SimPE and Bodyshop but he doesn't show up in my game. Would I have to go into Pleasantview and ressurect him there first so he will show up? But if there is any other way to move him to a town please let me know. A user, Fat stony Returns, has vandalized many users used talk pages with the same heading and content, based from his controbutions. Plus, the content added specifically said, "blocked in the next 20 minutes by Bucktony and friends." I am suspecting that he is a sockpupper of him. I rolled back most of the vandalism

Vandalism[]
The current last two edits to the wiki have been vandalism by "DonutswithJellyFilling!" They've gone over an hour with no action, although a moderator has told them about how they deleted some "non-constructive" edits somewhere. They've vandalised the The Sims 4 page to show him admitting to the vandalism and they've added a video. I am guessing he's abandoned the site, but... Page protection on The Sims 4[]
I've thrown The Sims 4 under a weeklong semi-protection due to an ungoing string of vandalism. Most of the vandalism culprits have been either blocked or they've stopped editing. What's noteworthy is that previous instances of vandalism were incorrectly reverted; multiple different users in a row vandalized the page. One vandal's contributions were rolled-back, but that rollback didn't revert the other vandalism instances. I ended up having to manually revert back to an edit on July 27th in order to restore the page to normal. As I said, the page is under semi-protection for now, but it might be worth making that protection permanent if we continue to have issues, considering that The Sims 4 is a highly noteworthy topic. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 03:09, August 12, 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed, I did incorrectly revert the vandalism, assuming they were the only vandal that had vandalised the page. Since I'm so used to vandalism being reverted before another user joins in on the vandalism. Barnacle Bay Sims[]
Maybe this is the more appropriate place to ask.
Many articles about Sims from Barnacle Bay are missing career information, but I do not have Barnacle Bay so I can't fix the edits myself. An example of this is Laurel Lai. The page states that her Lifetime Wish is Emperor Of Evil, but there is no information to state whether she is actually working in the criminal career, if she is unemployed, or if she is working in a different career despite her LTW just like Nick Alto. It is impossible to tell what careers the Sims have employment in (or lack thereof) due to this missing information, especially if one does not have the Barnacle Bay downloadable world. If the "smart" banner is what I think it is, I am thoroughly opposed to it. In my experience — and I am sure in the experiences of most others — banners that follow me around as I scroll down a page are far more annoying and irritating than encouraging and persuasive. - Hey guys :) I wanted to jump in just to explain the smart banner a bit more. It's actually not as described above. It's just a tiny little thing that appears for Android users only at the very top of many, but not all, mobile pages. It absolutely does not follow you as you scroll. And you can dismiss it by hitting a button in the upper right hand corner.
- Because this a campaign focussed on Google, it cannot be seen on any other operating system. Obviously, this mainly means that if you have an iPhone, you won't see it at all.
- Put simply, it's a very, very lightweight thing.
- Because it's a product we've only just created, I went ahead and enabled it to allow you to play with it, so that you can decide whether you want to keep it, based on actually seeing it, rather than just trying to imagine it. As you kick the tires on this thing, be aware that it may take you a few tries at reloading the page to see it. That's normal and expected at this stage of development.
- Similarly, I've gone ahead and enabled the right rail desktop image. At least one user, above, seemed to think it a good idea, and being able to actually see it will probably be helpful to this discussion.

- The purge button does not cause any damage when pressed and is perfectly harmless. It clears the server-side cache of the page and tells the software to update the page. Deletion of TS4: Island Living[]
A few minutes ago, I deleted The Sims 4: Island Living because its creation, in my view, violated the Unreleased Games Policy, specifically parts 1 and 3 of the 'Rumor Confirmation' rule. I do believe that the page did violate the letter of the policy. However, upon reflection, I am not sure that deletion was the proper course of action, so I have undeleted the page. I noted in the undeletion log that this is a "unique case." I say that because the so-called confirmation of the rumor was a leak from an EA website. It was not based only on speculation of leaks from non-EA sources, as has happened with games in the past. I think that the UGP as is currently written doesn't adequately address this particular scenario, so as it stands there would be no grounds for me to simply delete the page. I assume within a day of now this will be a moot point (as EA will probably officially announce the expansion at tomorrow's livestream), so it's not worth pursuing a formal deletion discussion. I fully expect that within the next few days, I'll be proposing an amendment to the UGP to cover this type of a leak. (As being discussed at The_Sims_Wiki_talk:Admin_Portal#Editing_restriction_on_DrakonoSkerdikas) I want to say, as a non-admin IP user having to deal with Drakono, that I support this proposal after the recent fiasco with Residential lot, how he proposed his changes on the talk page and I responded and he went ahead and made his own changes anyways without responding, apparently because he's not interested in talking any longer and thinks I'm in his way. Requesting bot flag for Syde BOT[]
I've been thinking about this request for a long time now, but I would like to request a bot flag for my bot Syde BOT, so that I'll be able to use a bot to do AWB edits without flooding Recent Changes.
Of course that would mean that the bot would need to be added to the AWB whitelist. If you have any concerns about my bot being given a bot flag and being whitelisted from the AWB blacklist, I have reasonable experience with AWB, having used it to perform AWB edits over a period of 4 years. It is currently in operation on the following wikis:

I Have Two Accounts by Accident[]
Hello admins! I realised today that I have two accounts, one is logged in on my phone and one on my computer, and I've been using both without realising it until now. - What I'd recommend is that you choose one of your accounts to be your "main account," and your other account to be your "second account." Go to your second account's userpage, include an explanation that your second account is owned by your main account, and include a link to your main account's userpage. Then, log out of your second account from any devices that currently use it to edit. From your main account, edit your main account userpage to show that you own the second account, and include a link to the second account's userpage. Note that your second account may be blocked from editing as a matter of policy, but that any blocks on the second account will not extend to your main account. New category for Sims with a customized gender[]
- There has been a lot of confusion lately over Sims with gender customization, and whether they're meant to be taken as transgender or not. Physical copies of games[]
Over the years I have collected a lot of physical copies of Sims here in Australia and a few are missing from this site. Are country specific releases something that this wiki keeps track of? If so, how can I go about providing relevant information to someone to update the pages? I do not have the time to modify the pages entirely myself, especially if they are editions deliberately not included. Some examples are Sims Carnival, Sims 2 Expansion Collection and Sims 2 + University
