Initial nominationsEdit

Anyone may nominate any contest they wish, as long as the article as not already been featured or already nominated. Please follow this process:

1. Start a new section below with a link to the article being nominated.
2. In the nomination, explain why a page is being nominated and how it fits Featured Contest criteria.
3. Sign the nomination using four tildes (~~~~).

Administrator reviewEdit

Once an article has been properly nominated, an administrator will open the nomination up to comments while they review the article to see whether it is fit for Featured Contest. After review of the article, an Administrator will perform one of these options:

1. Approve the contest and open up a new sub-section for votes
2. Deny the nomination, while citing what reason(s) the nomination was denied.

If a contest nomination is denied, it cannot be remade for three (3) months.

Note: If an administrator nominated an contest, it must be reviewed by a different administrator.

VotingEdit

Once option one is used, the contest will be available to be voted on. Anyone may vote for as many contests as they choose. Please do the following when voting:

1. Explain why you are voting for a contest - be sure to focus on the quality of the contest, over the content of the contest itself.
2. If voting against a contest, explain why you are voting against it - be specific and clear.
3. Sign all votes, and do not vote for the same contest more than once.
4. When nominating an contest, the nominee cannot vote for it.

SelectionEdit

• At the beginning of each new month, an administrator will determine the nominated contest with the most votes - each vote will count as +1 or -1 towards the total votes for the contest. The contest with the highest vote total may be selected as the Featured Contest.
• If, at the beginning of any month, a contest has more votes against it than votes for it, it will be immediately re-reviewed by an administrator, who may choose to stop voting on the contest and deny or postpone the nomination, or may choose to allow voting to continue.
• All contest nominations expire three months after the last vote for the nomination. If a nomination expires, it may be immediately re-nominated by any user, and will proceed through the process outlined above.
• Administrator override - An administrator may override the votes for a featured contest for a particular month for one of three reasons:

1. The contest, since its nomination, has declined in quality to a point where it is no longer Featured Contest quality
2. The contest received many votes which did not refer to the quality of the contest, but instead showed favor towards the content of the contest only.

Other informationEdit

All votes that were present on the page as of the changeover to the new system have been removed. Any of those contests are open for re-nomination, but must go through the review process.
