Removing other users from the list[]
I have noticed several times that some users remove other users from this list. I can see the implication is that "this user is no longer active or seemingly will never be, so there's no need to keep them on the list," but I feel a bit annoyed by this. Is it necessary? Is it critical to remove them? Is it harmful to leave them there? What if they eventually come back? I'm pretty certain that checking if their name is still on the list is at the bottom of their to-do list; but still, what do you feel if someone removes your name from the entry without your consent? - I see the point, but at the same time I agree with your viewpoint here. I feel it's not an essential task, but it also is harmless to remove names of long-absent users since they're unlikely to notice that their names have been removed. So, I'm neutral on this. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:28, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
- Just so you know, the only reason I removed Asher's name from the list is because her account was globally disabled by user choice, or by wikia. It seemed pointless to keep the name of a user who is unlikely to return on the birthdays list.
- While it isn't an essential task, and it isn't something I'd do on a regular basis, I removed Asher's name from the list in-case an inexperienced user decided to wish her a happy birthday whilst ignoring the "retired" template.
- I would not have removed her name from the list, had her account not been globally disabled. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:44, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
- I understand the reason behind why you removed Ash's name, and it makes sense. I personally think we should keep things as they are. Also, I didn't mean to point out this matter indirectly to you because you were the last one to remove someone there. Some others also removed names from the list, not just you. I just felt like bringing up this topic now. Nikel Talk – Vote! 05:32, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
By inactive, I mean those who have not edited within the past 6 months. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 03:58, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
Hello? :( December 23?[]
Hey, it was supposed to be my birthday today. Is anyone gonna message me? Did it pass already? I live in central time. :( Oh well... I'll be creating some fanons after Christmas... Wikierzz1122 (Let's talk it over) 22:10, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
- My apologies, but we unfortunately don't check the "birthday" section every day as often as we do other things. Anyways, happy birthday! --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 22:23, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
Removing other users from the list (again)[]
BobNewbie's original plan called for the removal of inactive users; however the Birthday page has no arbitrary dating that determines what an inactive user is. Should the users previously removed for inactivity be re-added? Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 05:03, April 4, 2015 (UTC)
