About meEdit

Ts2 the three branches of k6ka

The three branches of k6ka. Human on left, Robot in the middle, Ghost on right.
Human: This is my physical body, much like any other human on earth. You failed biology class, didn't you?
Robot: This is my loyal robot, K6kaBOT. It is an autonomous robot that can think for itself. It also does a lot of the physical labor.
Ghost: This is the ghostly part of me. It can walk through walls and possess animals! Also good for making people wet themselves.
Confused? Don't worry, just remember this: the Human is k6ka, the Robot is k6ka, and the Ghost is k6ka. Got it? Good.

Well, hello there, fellow Simmers. I am k6ka  (/ˈkˈsɪksˈkˈ/), but some people abbreviate my username as "k6". Just don't call me "kaka" - that ticks me off.

Who am I? I am an administrator on The Sims Wiki, and I am also an administrator at The Last Stand Wiki. On top of that, I am an autopatrolled user, pending changes reviewer, and rollbacker on Wikipedia. And if you think I reference Wikipedia too much when I speak, that's because I edit too much there.

I am a fairly big WikiHolic - I think about wikis during the day and dream about them at night. I am quite fluent with Wikitext - the thing that makes up Wikipedia and Wikia. I can't stand Visual Editor except for certain circumstances, such as editing a table. I just find source editor much easier, and I get more control over the outcome of the page. It also allows me to fix stuff that VisualEditor either can't fix, won't fix, or VisualEditor causes the problem in the first place. No, I didn't take a crash course or study all night to learn about Wikitext. I find that it just comes naturally the more you edit. And I edit a lot. By now I think you want to throw a wiki-egg at me for wiki-ing too much.

I hesitated on this section since it makes me look like some sort of a bot. Note that I'm not limited to the tasks listed below. I can do more than this table can hold. I'm a human, not a bot. Bleep bloop! Oh whoops..

Patrol recent changes. Patrol recent changes, correcting bad edits, deleting malicious pages, adding maintenance tags, and maintaining article quality.
Sign unsigned comments. Adds {{Unsigned}} to unsigned comments on talk pages, as well as other pages that require signatures, such as the battles page. I typically add the unsigned template if I don't see a link to your userpage (if you use a template for your signature and it includes a link, I'll ignore it. I'm a human, not a bot) and a date and time stamp. Bots, admins, bureaucrats, and experienced users are ignored.
Revert vandalism. You have an experienced vandal fighter on your side!
Correct Wikitext syntax, and modify to improve readability. I might run AutoED on articles to clean up and fix syntax. I might also do it manually...
Add {{Property}} and {{Fanon-anon}} to fanon articles when appropriate Does what the title says. I may also delete fanons with {{Fanon-anon}} when the timer expires.
Operate K6kaBOT I own and operate said bot. I typically clean up articles using AWB on that account.
Do the battles This job just fell in my lap. Or rather, I put it my lap in the first place. I do them every two weeks unless I'm specifically unavailable on that day.
Be the IRC contact I'm the IRC contact for this wiki, so I maintain the IRC channel and keep it well-tended.

You can contact me on this page.

The majority of cases should be discussed publicly, though in rare circumstances, I allow users to email me privately. But first, read the following...

So, when can I email you?
Wait! Before you even click that link, I must tell you that there are very few cases that I'm willing to discuss privately over email. I grant you this email address only because I am nice. I can revoke this at any time.

The majority of cases should be discussed on my talk page. If it's wiki-related, casual discussion that won't harm anyone if publicly seen, etc., then do it on my talk page.

Examples of when you can email me:

  • You are currently blocked from editing and your ability to edit your talk page has been revoked. You can email me to request an unblock, or to inform me that you are an innocent editor that has been autoblocked.
  • There is a revision on a page that you want removed from public view, because it is extremely offensive, defamatory, or reveals personal information. In cases like these, do not post it publicly, as we don't want the Streisand effect to add fuel to the fire.
  • Other personal matters. However, keep in mind that this isn't a social networking site, so don't treat emails as casual private messages in which you can spam me.

If you are receiving death threats from someone else, do NOT email me. Contact Wikia Staff, and if needed, your local police.

If you need assistance with editing the wiki, do NOT email me. Someone else might have the same question that you have, and it's only fair that they can see it as well. Ask at the Help desk or at my talk page. You can also ask at Community Central.

If you want to advertise your crappy new product, DON'T BOTHER. I do not tolerate spam in my email inbox and I will simply shred any spam I see.

Remember that I reserve the right to ignore any email that is sent to me, for ANY reason. If I don't respond, do not push for a response. It's that simple.

In summary - use email only as a last resort, or when the situation is sensitive. Got it? Good.

Now that you've made it this far, you can email me at k6ka01At Thank you.
