With The Sims 4: Get to Work being just a few days away from release, it's time to make any last minute changes. Does every item have a price tag? Are all the employees ready for work? Are all the uniforms set? Is the person at the till asleep? Is the baker sampling cake slices when he's not supposed to? Where's my clipboard? Why is the cash register empty? Did Little Johnny flush my watch down the toilet? Hmm... my uniform's wrinkled, can I iron it?
But enough questions — let's Get to Work, shall we?
The Sims News
Patches, patches, patches...
Patch 15 was released a few days ago. It will update your game to PC version 220.127.116.110, and Mac version 18.104.22.1680. It also adds a shiny new feature — basements! No more shall your vampire Sims have to suffer the agony of above-ground floors! Now they can hide in the cool, dank confines of their dungeon basements. Or, for the evil Sims, now they have a suitable place to trap their enemies in without interfering with the rest of their house. Or, I'm guessing for most of you, it's just a nice addition to fit in a rec room.
Some other changes were made. I'm not going to list them here because I'd probably go on forever and ever, so be sure to see the full patch notes here. Always remember to uninstall all mods and custom contentbefore installing the patch, and to run the game at least once without your mods and custom content after installing the patch.
The Sims 4: G—
...okay okay, you've probably heard about it by now. The Sims 4: Get to Work expansion pack will be coming out on March 31, 2015. The return of ownable businesses is the biggest selling point (we all loved The Sims 2: Open for Business, did we not?). Explore Magnolia Promenade, ready with four lots to build your business empire! The new Detective, Doctor and Scientist careers will unleash the left-side of your Sim's brains as they bring in the mega-Simoleons! Oh, and of course, don't forget that you're not alone in the void, because if you have, they'll be paying you a visit to remind you.
First and foremost, we've been working on a new design for the wiki to fit in with The Sims 4 theme. We still have some templates that are using the old design, but we hope to get those updated as soon as possible! In the meantime, please leave feedback and/or bug reports to Forum:New theme proposal. Your input is needed!
Drone drone drone... blah blah blah... Yeah, we have some active forum discussions going on that could use your input! Remember — it's people like you that drive this wiki forward.
A full list of active discussions can be found here.
This month's question is "What do you think about the social media integration in the game, such as The Sims 3: Showtime & The Sims 4? Should the feature be improved or scrapped entirely? Why?" Head on over to Woganhemlock's blog to voice your opinion.
Ding! Ding! Two new rounds begin! Who will win the fight? It's up to you to decide!
Now, over on the The Sims Wiki:Battles, coming out of the red corner, we have... John Burb! And, coming out of the blue corner, we have... Timothy Riley! Both of these are unemployed fathers of young princesses, with one of them wanting to be successful in their careers while the other wants a big, happy family. Who's the better daddy here? Vote now!
We now move on to the fanon battles! Coming out of the red corner, hard-working Renaud McGaw steps into the ring! Coming out of the blue corner, super-chill Victor Gonzaga gets ready to face his opponent! Both of these fine gentlemen here work for the same business, but McGaw's a dedicated worker while Gonzaga is more laid-back. But McGaw isn't even friends with a chess piece! Gonzaga has the friends... and a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches. There he is — he's eating one right now! Oh man, how I love grilled cheese... erm! Who do you like better? Vote now!
