Hello there and welcome to the weekly update blog.
Seeing as the roster hasn't been finalised (partly my fault) over who's doing it when, I'll take the reigns this week. Note that the proposal thread is still open for anyone who wishes to contribute.
The Sims news[]
Nothing too major has happened in the world of The Sims series the past week but I've dug up a few things which some of you may be interested in.
- A new neighborhood for The Sims 3 known as Monte Vista is scheduled for release on December 6th. There will also be a live chat on the neighborhood which will take place on November 27th at 6pm GMT. [1]
- The Steam version of The Sims 3 has seen the release of Katy Perry's Sweet Treats, Diesel Stuff, Supernatural and Seasons after months of confusion on the support for this version based on the highly publicized feud between EA and Valve.[2] Also, the base game and all DLC, excluding the new four, are 50% off as part of the Steam Autumn sale.[3]
- Finally in the UK, The Sims 3: Seasons has debuted at #1 on the PC chart, beating the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops II in first week sales figures, with the base game and the prior expansion pack charting at #4 and #5 respectively.[4]

While not too much has happened in the community within the past week, there are some very important discussions on the discussions forum which require input and any input would be much appreciated.

- Discussing whether or not to enable the "Game Guides Content" feature on The Sims Wiki
- Deciding whether to establish a formatting style for discussion threads
- Addressing and attempting to solve the decline in Featured Articles voting and nominations
- Replacing the current set of Chat emoticons
