Hi everyone! We had a discussion at the community discussion regarding the elimination of Player Stories. The discussion was also notified in the Community Corner. Thanks to all who participated in the discussion, but before we conclude our discussion, what is it about the Player Stories?

Technically, the Player Stories is one of the most vulnerable feature in The Sims Wiki, mainly because it's the most abused feature, and administrators and moderators easily miss it. Sometimes, if not most of the times, anonymous contributors come to share their stories, but usually they don't recognize our wiki standards and they might use profanity to "spruce up" their stories, while it's against our policy. Sometimes it's just not profane, but rude or offending.

Also, contributors cannot keep the most general rules; there are many but none of them are difficult to do. These things include signing (~~~~) your own story, adding new stories at the bottom of the page, not removing the header template, not removing/editing other people's stories, and not using the categories to add new stories. These are all the most common things contributors disobey, and administrators cannot keep track of the edits all the time. The quality of Player Stories are low, and may lower our wiki standards.

People make mistakes, but many people make more mistakes, and administrators are also people who can make mistakes and miss to moderate the stories. Thus, we have made a conclusion which is to eliminate the Player Stories. We wouldn't want anyone to miss much about this change, so we notify you through this blog in case you didn't get to see our discussion. Basically, we'd like to know what you think about this. Thank you.

What do you think about our Player Stories feature?
