Hello all, and welcome to another installment of The Sims Wiki's news! Due to the busy holiday season we didn't get around to a post last week and for that I apologize, so we're just going to have to get through twice as many things this week.
The Sims news
- Literally nothing
The holiday season means that very few things have happened in the world of The Sims, but there's a couple of things of note:
- Some concept art for The Sims 4 has been published by Caiphus Moore, the Character Modeler for The Sims 4. Be sure to have a look here if you're interested.
- This was first brought to my attention on Twitter, and someone else posted a tweet about it but its fairly important so I'll go over it again: There has been reports of Origin users having their accounts compromised. I would highly recommend following the steps in the link I posted, especially if you use Reddit since it seems to be common among Reddit users. EA has yet to make a statement.
The Sims Wiki news
- User rights changes
There's been a couple of changes to positions on TSW. Congratulations to Imasexysimlover for a successful request for rollback rights. Additionally, TheSims23 has been demoted from her admin position after having her account closed for unknown reasons. As always, if you feel like you are a worthy candidate for a promotion, don't hesitate to request. In particular rights requests have dried up recently, especially those that are not nominated by another user. If your request gets denied, don't fret since you will at the very least learn how you can improve as a user. With that said, go here to request adminship, and here to request rollback. Please note that rollback is a prerequisite for any user seeking an administrative position.
- Forum discussions please respond edition
Discussions are always ongoing on the forum. Please give your input or if needed start a discussion if you want to see some sort of change. I can only write this so many different ways each week.
There's probably some other stuff here.
- Monthly Question
The monthly question has once again been updated to coincide with the new month. This month's question is: How do you play The Sims? What's your style of gameplay? What feature do you play and enjoy the most? What has kept you playing The Sims until now? Leave your thoughts here and join in the discussion.
- Want to help?
The amount of times I've posted this boggles the mind but its relevant every single time. We're always looking for people to help out on TSW. We're always looking for people to write the weekly news blogs, so sign up if you want to publish an issue or act as a backup writer. Also, as I mentioned above, user rights applications are open as always, which you should consider if you're a long term editor of the wiki.
It is my hope that everyone who is reading this had a happy holiday season, and, more to the point, are looking forward to this year. With the prospect of the first game pack for The Sims 4, there is also a fairly high possibility of an expansion pack being released or at the very least announced this year. I would like to wish everyone a very happy and busy 2015, and I hope that you all stick around to make this our best year yet. As always, I am happy to answer any questions about this blog or make changes if you notice a mistake, or just listen to your feedback. Post either in the comments or my talk page and I'll get back to you ASAP. On that note, I do believe that is everything I need to say.
Until next time,
