The colors correspond to Bureaucrat (green) or Administrator (red) ranks. I don't think there has been any discussion of opening them up to non-admins, and in any case setting the colors requires editing a couple .css pages, which non-admins can't do. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 01:54, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

- That's why it creeps me out. Sometimes some users just use it and I'm shocked when they call my (user)name.
