Vacation Director Kana is one of the new NPCs added in The Sims: Vacation. You can have Sims ask her for information about various aspects of gameplay on Vacation Island, and she will eventually shoo the Tragic Clown if he shows up. Normally, she just wanders around, occasionally talking to Maid Marrion, Janitor Tanya, or members of the Vacationer families. You cannot interact with a Sim who is waiting to be talked to by Kana, as any interaction you select will drop out of the action queue. Sims will even abandon plates of food when Kana wants to talk to them. Since they won't go back to it, you can have your Sims eat it. She is also responsible for giving Vacation Awards for your Sims.

- If a pet is present, it may be difficult for your sims to receive Vacation Awards because normally the other family members will cheer when they receive an Award. Pets won't be able to cheer so the action will be ignored, disabling her to give the award.
